QuestionHow do I install without the CD?I've misplaced the Installation CD that goes with my upgrade to WNR2000 (N300). Can I simply use the Installation CD that goes with my old WGR614 (G54), or could I download the proper installation files from the net? I have a related query. My Comcast service provides 105 Mbps. Speedtest with my G54 router indicates I'm getting 95 Mbps d/l, 12 Mbps u/l. What can I expect to gain with the upgrade N300 router. Thank you for your response.

- Answer You are never going to actually get the 105mbps no matter which router you use. There will be a loss at some point in your connection. The best thing you can do is put the best hardware you can on your side to ensure it's not your side causing the problem. As per installation. You should not need the cd for installation. There should be an ip address that is default for it printed somewhere and if you plug in wired you should be able to use that ip address in the address bar of your browser to get to the router. Once there, you should be able to set it up.

- Answer If your chrome book has the ethernet adaptor for the initial set up AND a wireless B/G/N card, it should work. If you don't have an ethernet port, set it up with another computer then you can just connect with your chrome book.

- Answer That's quite a question. The config process is not a "click-through" type of thing. You need to set up the SSID (the name that is visible to your wireless devices), set the wireless password, change the default Admin password and so on. If you don't know what these things mean, you need help.

- Answer No. You have to pay for internet in some fashion. But your purchase cost is the only expense if you have dsl or a cable modem to run to it

- Answer I personally do not think it will. I have ATT as well and when I used this product, my speeds went WAY down. I switched back to the att equipment and all is well.

- Answer I am thinking you are asking if you can use it as and extender. Not really, it's for being able to connect using a cord. The best use of it, is if you stay at a lot of hotels, you can hook up to their hard line and use it as a protected source for your devices. That's why I bought it.
