A:AnswerThe sound bar has plenty of power for any room up to 16' x 16' I would suggest a full surround system in a room any larger. As for movie quality sound? I think it sounds better playing movies than it is with music. But it does very good with both! I have never had anything less than a full surround system before so this was a difficult move for me. But I couldn't be happier with the choice I made. I certainly do not miss the extra components I was able to shed :)
A:AnswerYou cannot add your own speakers to this. This item gives you the surround "feel". It can do 5.1 DTS decoding, and more. The other speakers that can be added are not for giving the unit a conventional surround sound setup.
