Sorry to hear about this issue, have you ran the power outlet cord to the power unit and the Ethernet wire to your wireless router? There are some minor cosmetic changes required for hook up if you are using the elite model. Such as drilling a larger hole in the present doorbell unit, or possibly your router maybe out of date, other areas that seem to develop is short cuts to avoid drilling into the house and running the Ethernet as well power supply wiring beside the door, when closing catches the wire causing unattended grounding which shorts out the unit.
The unit ring elite is awesome once it is up running, it is worth spending a few extra dollars hiring an Electrician professional to wire the unit if you are not familiar with electric work,
