- Answer It comes with an AC adaptor - you may have thrown it out in the trash. The box is small but the adaptor is in there believe me. If not take it back with receipt and open up the new box with a salesmen before you leave Best Buy. Look I even had to search for the adaptor the way they pack it - it looks like its part of the packing material.

- Answer THIS splitter does not amplify. I know of no splitter that amplifies without a power input. This unit is a simple splitter.

QuestionCan this device be connected right before the cable box? Because I have 100ft+ of cable before it reaches the tv. I have one at the beginning, but I think it loses signal over the distance.

- Answer Yes, I attached it right before the cable box, also after a 100ft+ cable run. It eliminated all of my pixelated pictures, and all channels show up very clearly. I live in Manhattan, where there are lots of long runs with old coax cables...

QuestionWill this help my Mohu Sky HDTV multidirectional antenna? Antenna doesn't always hold the same # of channels. The channels that do come in varies on a regular basis. The run is about 30 ft. The antenna is located in the attic about 30 ft ftom the ground.

- Answer Yes. I have the same type of antenna mounted on the outdoor wall of my condo balcony. My condo Home Owner's Association forbids the use of rooftop antennas. Initially, the signal from the Mohu Sky HDTV antenna was OK, but not great. I experimented, and discovered that the included Moho "Amplifier" actually made my TV find "Fewer" HD channels during a scan. I ended up replacing the included Moho "Amplifier" with the Rocketfish "Cable Amplifier". I did another scan. 57 HD channels, NO "Pixilating", and Great Sound. This was MY experience. You might need to experiment, and find the best combination for your TV.

- Answer Out 1/PWR IN is for connecting a component that can provide DC current power. Then you would - not need - the included AC adapter to power this nice amplifier. If your component does not provide DC current by coaxial cable then you can still connect to Out 1 but you would then use AC power with the adapter to power the amplifier. Most components connected by coaxial cable do not have DC power running thru it.

- Answer They way I understand it no it will not. Directv signals are a different frequency than cable and over the air signals. This box is designed for cable and over the air.

- Answer Yes, it could be. But your gain will be reduced if not negated by the additional splitter. I would recommend an outdoor antenna amplifier ( of course much more costly). Or, just add one of these on each source ( may be smarter than the outdoor amplifier).

- Answer If you are really close to the broadcast towers an amplifier will degrade your reception. If you are close, try your indoor antenna without the amp. If your reception doesn't get any better you need a stronger antenna. Either indoor or outdoor.

- Answer This model will take the signal from your antenna and split it into four outputs. The outputs will be amplified meaning that you will get a stronger signal from the antenna. If the signal will be better than what you are experiencing now will depend on how close the broadcast is and how well the antenna is capturing that signal.
