- Answer ChrisH: Yes, the issues with the Samsung 9100 Pro Gen 5 SSD in the M.2 slot near the CPU on the ASUS ROG Maximus Z890 Hero are known, but they are not caused by lane-sharing with the GPU. The GPU still runs at PCIe 5.0 x16, and the SSD at PCIe 5.0 x4. The problems (stuttering, lag, or reduced benchmark scores) appear to be firmware/BIOS-related. For now, the best fix is to update your motherboard BIOS and SSD firmware. To check for latest firmware update: Run the Magician software and choose “Firmware Update” under the navigation menu. If the program suggests that you do not need to update the firmware, you have the latest firmware. - Samsung Memory

- Answer I would check the size of the m.2 card in your laptop first. It would suck to buy this and it be too long and not fit. Also, if the slot on your laptop is a gen 4 then you wont get the speed it states. It should still work though. I use mine in a gen 4. If i upgrade my mb then the speed will be there.
