Regarding your concern, yes, this appliance must be properly grounded. Do not ground the appliance to a gas pipe, plastic water pipe, or telephone line. • Improper grounding may result in electric shock, fire, an explosion, or problems with the product. • Never plug the power cord into a socket that is not grounded correctly. Make sure the socket you use is grounded in accordance with local and national codes I recommend you check your usermanual for further assistance. To do this, you'll need to press the "Start/Pause" button to pause the cycle and unlock the lid. However, it is also important to note that if you are using liquid detergent it will need to be placed in the detergent tray instead of directly on the clothes. ^Jecca
