The 970-EVO SSD utilizes the NVM-e (off of the PCI-Express) Architecture. According to the Crucial Memory Web-Site -- https://www.crucial.com/usa/en/compatible-upgrade-for/ASUS/p8z77-v-lk -- your System only supports SATA Versions of SSD's... However, Crucial and/or Micron do make SATA HDD's that will work in your system, such as the BX500 and MX500 Series of SATA SSD Drives.
