QuestionSamsung instructed me to go to https://www.samsung.com/us/support/downloads/ to get a SW update for HW-A40R soundbar (rear speakers have no volume). This web page is not recognizing my model # (HW-A40R). Need more HELP please!

- Answer I had same problem, I had to flip the polarity on one speaker. Positive to negative and visa versa. Solved problem. Known issue found solution on google.

QuestionLow volume-rear speakers. Cannot connect to SmartThings (doesn't recognize my Samsung 6 Series TV or A40R Sound Bar). Also, TV is connected via wifi, but doesn't find this soundbar in settings. So how do I update this soundbar to the latest version?

- Answer Hello Virginny, The HW-A40R Soundbar does not have the ability to connect via Wi-Fi. To to be able to do a full update on the soundbar please refer to pages 40 - 42 in the manual using a USB stick. https://downloadcenter.samsung.com/content/UM/202104/20210414174844187/HW-A40R_ZA_FullManual_X9_210203.0.pdf If you need extra assistance with updating, check with your local Best Buy or contact Samsung Customer Service at: 1-800-SAMSUNG (ask for Soundbars), available 8 AM – 12 AM EST, 7 days a week. ^Andrew

- Answer When I first installed mine it did the same thing I had it sitting face down instead of how its meant to be, my bad I dident look at it hard enough to see which side the speakers face and what was the actual bottom , also went into the audio settings and turned off the tv speakers

- Answer Hi Tjw5! The HW-A40R does not feature built in sync adjustment settings. You can minimize the delay by using the digital optical audio cable instead of the wireless Bluetooth connection. Also, you may want to update the soundbar to the latest firmware version, often times improving the connection to external devices and eliminating the delay. ^Tim

- Answer If it is connected to a TV I set my tv to sleep not off that way the sound bar doesn't turn off. Hope this helps.

QuestionTHE LITTLE REAR SORROUND SOUND SPEAKERS BARELY HAVE ANY VOLUME AT ALL. EVERYTHHIGN IS CONNECTED CORRECTLY BUT TO HEAR HE "SORROUND SOUND" I HAVE TO HOLD THE SPEAKER TO MY EAR. CAN I USE LARGER SPEAKERS SINCE THESE CONNECT WITH SPEAKER WIRE?

- Answer Press and hold mute button for 5 seconds. The red light will show on wireless unit. Use paper clip hold reset button on back of wireless unit.blue light showing connection should come on.

QuestionThis claims to have "wireless surround sound speakers" but can the surround sound speakers be connected through bluetooth or do they need to be connected with speaker wire?

- Answer It’s very deceiving how it’s sold. It requires wiring from a control module. The module itself is the wireless part. Their version of wireless and mine are two different things. The rear speakers are also so soft they can barley be heard. I found something that mentions a gain control for them but so far no luck. There is no actual volume control for them. I don’t recommend to get these.

- Answer Possibly, I’ve unplugged the actual sound bar and moved it into another room and every time I bring it back it causes my tv to not connect to the internet for a while….hope this helps!
