QuestionDoes this device work with IFTTT? (Without a hub)

- Answer No, this sensor requires some hub. I would recommend the Samsung hub. Right now it’s $69. Once you have that you can do just about anything. I have mine controlling lights, garage doors, front door locks, and motion sensors. It’s a lot of fun to say “Alexa Goodnight”. and ave it close the garage door, lock the front door, and dim all the lights to night mode. Enjoy!

QuestionWhat battery does this model use? I have the old ST motion sensor which uses a CR2477 battery which is proving difficult to find from a retailer.

- Answer I have this new unit and the older unit. The new (current) version takes 1 x CR2 battery which is actually sold in retail stores like Best Buy. For the older unit, I had to order replacement CR2477 batteries online through Amazon.

- Answer Unlikely but I guess it would depend on how if the cat was moving in its range . We have a small dog and it doesn't trigger the device.

- Answer It appears to be discontinued. I'm looking for a suitable replacement. This thing has motion and temp. Pretty useful. The alternatives are cheaper, but motion only.

- Answer Through the Samsung Smart Thing App you can have it send you a text message when it detects motion. A Wi-Fi motion activated camera would be better for video proof.

QuestionWill this work from the top corner of a room, want to put it in the top corner near the ceiling so it’s not to noticeable. Could I just install it on the wall or does it need to be tilted down

- Answer yes it can be in the top corner but just be aware that the sensor works in a 180 degrees angle so it has to be positioned in a way it captures the zone that you want to be detected

- Answer You have to link the sensor to a hub. Within the hub app. you can setup a routine for the sensor with the times you want.

- Answer The motion sensor itself doesn't sent any alarms to your phone. It is design to work with the Smart Thing hub. When it detects motion it send that to the hub and the hub is what sets you an alarm via the selection you made when you set it up in how to alert you.
