• It could be worse. Cleaning the roll is extremely easy though

• I bought the vacuum as a gift and they have not opened it yet. I do not know the answer to your question. I did a lot of research and this Shark appeared to pick up a lot of hair with no problem according to multiple websites. That is why I chose it.
