- Answer My chime remained the same when I installed it. I have the simple ‘ding dong’ chime and nothing changed when the SimpliSafe doorbell camera was installed.

- Answer It is a standalone and does not require the SS alarm. However, if you have SS and pay for the interactive monitoring subscription, then the storage of your videos is included in that pricing.

QuestionI have already had a cheaper model quit after a short time, I think it couldn't stand up to the direct west sun where a metal unit can get too hot to touch. Any experience with this unit in the hot sun? I didn't see a temperature spec.

- Answer At the moment it does not appear to have that functionality. I have heard rumors that google/Alexa capatabilty May be added in a future update as it has been with the Simplisafe system.

- Answer Yes it would, you get alerts on your phone that someone rang the bell. Unless you had your phone on do not disturb.

QuestionI recently bought the Simplisafe doorbell pro. I got it mounted and connected to the old doorbell wires, but for some reason I can’t talk to someone on the porch, I can hear them inside the house but they can’t hear anything I say.

- Answer I have the same problem. SimpliSafe customer support says it’s a software problem. They are aware of the problem, and they are working on a solution. They will contact us when the problem is solved. They gave us 2 months free monitoring for the inconvenience.

QuestionHow do you pan the camera?

- Answer I thought the same thing....... Bring up the camera live view.... Turn the phone or tablet sideways....to get a full screen view. Place your thumb and index finger together on the screen.....increase space between fingers while still on the screen. This will ZOOM IN to distance areas. With one finger on the screen.....move up and down.....side to side. Now you have TILT and PAN and ZOOM! You will never be able to see any more than your full view screen.....however when you ZOOM....you can Now pzn and tillt to see more clearly. A more expensive camera will have a moveable camera, with controls in the app.....that will allow you to ZOOM,TILT AND PAN! Hope this helps!

- Answer It connects to two low voltages wires that are currently connected to a doorbell button. This both powers it and allows for the "ding dong." If you don't have a doorbell, you can use a micro USB to "power" it and only get notifications via the app.
