A:AnswerProbably. depending on the angle and wall.
You would have to find the length and cut the excess off. Rather than expanding or "periscope" outward, The unit collapses from full length and the ends stick out the opposite end if that makes sense. These would then be cut off and sealed.
A:AnswerYes, you can shorten or lengthen it as needed by sliding the sections together or apart. Our measurement was the Same as yours. It required separating the two sections, determining where they they needed it, then cutting the two sections with tin snips (easily done) where they couldn't overlap. This Sounds complicated, but will make sense when you look at the actual vent.
A:AnswerYes you can get closer to the wall with the periscope about 2’ then you can with the regular dryer vent hose. You may need to be a little creative to attach everything together. I had to buy 2 connector to get the job done because the connectors on the periscope just aren’t long enough. Get 2 extra clamps to make sure it holds ogether on both ends.
A:AnswerThe people who delivered our dryer with the periscope dryer vent, which did not work for our situation, were definitely not from the Geek Squad. As a matter of fact, due to space constraints and timing issues we had 3 different deliveries and 3 different sets of delivery people. Two sets of them were fine, one was less than stellar. The first ones were the best and we always hoped it would be them again. All that said, Best Buy itself was very helpful and accommodating. I'm assuming the delivery people are independent workers who contract with Best Buy because every box van was unmarked.
A:AnswerYes but if the vent pipe is inside the machine you will need to get the extensions or the elbows. Also the periscope isn’t very long so make sure of the length you need. If you have room on the side of the machine why not use the flex tubing?
Best Buy doesn’t carry any of the extension so go to Home Depot/Loews also get extra clips just to make sure the connection if good.
A:AnswerTypically they charge for installation but it’s very easy to install, even myself which I have never done it. Watched a you tube video and went for it. Takes only couple minutes.
A:AnswerThis device is used when the outlet is not in-line with the discharge of the dryer from side to side or maybe defined as off-set. If this is used it will place your dryer clooser to the wall.
A:AnswerThe same thing happened when we tried to use it. Hubby didn’t see a good way to make it work. Was concerned that if they were put back in, they might fall out without us knowing and the vent would overheat. We returned this item.
