Q: QuestionI am confused for the refresh rate. The specs say 240 but in the comments you say its 60. Which is it?
Asked by Bock728.
- A:Answer I bought this TV 5/19/16...It has a 120hz native panel. Many people keep posting wrong info and confusing everyone. It is a 120hz panel. As far as I know all sony's in 2015/2016 have 120hz panels.

Q: QuestionDid anyone find a problem with the brightness of the TV. I find the brightness and contrast to be very low.
Asked by yogi.
- A:Answer I'm glad you posted that...the X830C is a TERRIBLE set because it has laughable contrast, and I've been unable to find out ANYTHING about the X800C. So do dark scenes on your X800C lack contrast, even if you play with the settings, like 'vivid', contrast, etc.? If so then it sounds like it might use the same panel as the X830C, in which case I'm avoiding it :-/ It's crazy, I'm probably going to buy a 1080p set just because I can't find a single 4K set that actually fits my needs...

Q: QuestionDoes this TV have an option for a wireless subwoofer? I use the SWF-BR100 and was hoping it would be compatible with this TV as well.
Asked by Thomas.
- A:Answer Looks like this TV has a listing in the sound option settings for the SWF BR100 subwoofer, but far as I could tell..thats the only sub listed with settings. There are a host of other Sony home entertainment systems listed as well, but to many to type in here sorry.

Q: QuestionIf sony does not have an XBR49X800C how can Best Buy sell it? Also how can Sony say it has an X1 processor if they don't make the TV?
Asked by Papa.
- A:Answer Don't waste your time on the link from SonyListens, Papa. This is just a generic (automated?) response that points to their support site, which has absolutely no information on this model. Apparently, "SonyListens" doesn't. If we're having this much trouble BEFORE we buy, just imagine the fiasco you'll have AFTER you own it and need help.

Q: QuestionThis TV (XBR49X800C) is not shown on the Sony website. Can you explain why not? Other than $200 what is the difference between this TV and the XBR49X830C?
Asked by Casey.
- A:Answer The X830C uses an IPS panel, and as such is a HORRIBLE TV. It can't do blacks at all-dark scenes are just a mushy black mess. Unfortunately I've been completely unsuccessful trying to figure out what the X800C *is*. It MIGHT just be a smaller X810C, in which case it's probably an awesome set. But if it's using the same panel as the X830C, then it's garbage. Sony is 99% of the time a safe choice with great TVs that do everything well...but that X830C is unfortunately a giant exception.
