  • QuestionDo you need a receiver with this item? I have a plug-and-play soundbar I want to use, I am not interested in the bluetooth functionality. Will this work directly with a sound bar without the need for a receiver?

    Asked by RKat.

    • Answer Not 100% sure, but the turntable does have a built-in phono preamp. If you can connect the turntable to your soundbar via the audio cable, it seems like you could set the switch to LINE instead of PHONO and the preamp could output the audio signal to the soundbar.

  • Questionwhat type of amplifier does this have? Or does the turntable require a separate amp?

    Asked by oswald.

    • Answer Hello Oswald, Thank you for your interest in Sony products! We appreciate your inquiry and are happy to assist. The PS-LX310BT turntable is equipped with a built-in phono preamplifier, allowing it to connect directly to audio devices that do not have a dedicated phono input, thereby eliminating the need for a separate amplifier. Additionally, the turntable features a switchable Phono/Line output, enabling compatibility with both phono and line-level inputs. For optimal performance, please ensure the Phono/Line switch is set according to your audio system’s input type. If your system does not have a phono input, set the switch to "Line" to make use of the built-in preamp. • QuestionCan the Bluetooth signal from the turntable be received by home audio receivers?.

    Asked by Anonymous.

    • Answer Hello there, Thank you for your interest in Sony products! We appreciate your inquiry and are happy to assist. The Sony PS-LX310BT turntable is designed to transmit audio via Bluetooth to compatible devices such as wireless speakers and headphones. However, it does not receive Bluetooth signals, so it cannot pair with home audio receivers that lack Bluetooth transmission capability. To connect the PS-LX310BT to a home audio receiver, you can use its built-in phono preamp and RCA outputs. This allows you to connect the turntable directly to your receiver using standard audio cables. • QuestionWhat is the case made of? Plastic or aluminum?

    Asked by Case.

    • Answer Hello Case, Thank you for considering Sony products! We appreciate your question and are happy to assist. The Sony PS-LX310BT turntable features a main chassis (or plinth) primarily made of durable plastic. However, key performance components are crafted from aluminum to enhance stability and sound quality. Specifically, the platter is made from die-cast aluminum, and the tone arm pipe is also aluminum. These aluminum parts play a vital role in ensuring precise playback and reducing vibrations. So, while the main body is plastic, the critical components that directly interact with the record and stylus are aluminum for improved performance. • QuestionDoes this turntable have a preamp?

    Asked by turntable.

    • Answer Hi Turntable, Thank you for considering Sony products! We appreciate your inquiry and are happy to assist. The PS-LX310BT turntable does indeed include a built-in phono preamp, so there’s no need to purchase a separate one. This allows you to connect the turntable directly to most audio systems, powered speakers, or even use its Bluetooth feature right out of the box. On the back of the unit, you’ll find a switch that lets you select between "Phono" mode (for connecting to an amplifier with a dedicated phono input) and "Line" mode (which activates the internal preamp for connection to standard AUX inputs). • QuestionWill this connect to Sonos Speaker?

    Asked by Anonymous.

    • Answer Hello there, We appreciate your question. We're happy to clarify that information for you! The PS-LX310BT turntable can connect to Sonos speakers, but whether it's through Bluetooth or a wired connection depends on the specific model you have. -For Wireless (Bluetooth) Connection: If your speaker has Bluetooth built in, you can pair the turntable directly over Bluetooth; just like you would with headphones or a phone. The PS-LX310BT uses the standard Bluetooth A2DP profile for streaming audio, which is what most Bluetooth speakers use for high quality sound. -For Wired Connection: You can use the turntable's included RCA cable to connect it to a Sonos device that has a Line-In port. For your convenience, you can find the unit's manual at the following link: https://www.sony.com/electronics/support/res/manuals/4748/2a8f06044efec02b753eff3df707fb93/47487551M.pdf Thank you for making Sony part of your purchasing consideration! • Answer Hi Gawdsilla, Thanks for sending your question. We're happy to clarify that for you! Yes, the PS-LX310BT turntable has a built-in phono preamp. This means you don't have to worry about buying a separate one, you can connect it directly to pretty much any audio system, powered speakers, or even use its Bluetooth feature right out of the box. • QuestionCan it be connected to my Sonos system wired speakers and how?

    Asked by Anonymous.

    • Answer Hello there, Thank you for considering Sony products! We appreciate your inquiry and are happy to assist you. The Sony PS-LX310BT turntable comes with a built-in phono preamp and outputs audio via stereo RCA connectors. To connect it to your Sonos system's wired speakers, you will need to integrate the turntable with a Sonos component that supports RCA inputs. Here are two effective options to achieve this: Using a Sonos Port: The Sonos Port is specifically designed to connect legacy audio equipment to your Sonos ecosystem. It features stereo RCA audio inputs, allowing you to connect devices like the PS-LX310BT seamlessly. Once connected, the Port streams the audio wirelessly to your Sonos speakers over your Wi-Fi network. Connecting Directly to Sonos Speakers with Line-In: Certain Sonos speakers, such as the Sonos Five, include a 3.5mm line-in port. You can connect your turntable directly to these speakers using a 3.5mm to RCA cable. Simply connect the RCA ends to the PS-LX310BT output and the 3.5mm end to the speaker’s line-in port, enabling you to enjoy vinyl playback through your Sonos speakers. For more detailed information about these connection methods, please refer to page 13 of the manual available here: https://www.sony.com/electronics/support/res/manuals/4748/2a8f06044efec02b753eff3df707fb93/47487551M.pdf Best regards, -Fred
