A:AnswerThis will work with any system. It has two options for wiring. Either a single mono cable, or line level speaker leads. I have mine hooked up via the single mono cable and it works great!
A:AnswerIt's a 115W subwoofer so its going to kick out very loud sound. Simply turn the volume down using the volume knob in the back of it to get a balanced sound
A:AnswerA sub woofer is for the lower frequency sound signals normally up to 100 HZ. Normally the amp will have a dedicated RCA jack output to the sub woofer. The recommend connection for the Sony SACS9 subwoofer is the RCA jack. If there are no RCA jack subwoofer from your amp, then speaker jacks can be used.
A:AnswerMany recordings do not have enough bass to drive a subwoofer, especially music from the fifties, etc. Try a CD with good bass content. The crossover comes preset and it is suggested to leave it there. Ther is also a volume control on the back which independently contols bass volume. Use high quality RCA connectors.
A:AnswerMake sure you are connected to the "sub-woofer" output on the back of your receiver. I had the same problem until I got the right connection. The instruction manual is quite detailed for the various configurationations - surround sound, etc. I just use right, left and sub-woofer outputs from the receiver.
There also is an "auto-on" setting on the back of the woofer which kicks in the bass when appropriate base notes are present. Otherwise you can set it to be on all the time.
Not all music has strong base notes, particularly the 50s kind.
Check the instructions for the volume and crossover settings which are located on the back. The crossover setting was preset on mine according to the recommend decibel.
Feel free to get back to me if you still have problems.
A:AnswerHow are you connecting the other Subwoofer? If you get a Y-adapter then you can use standard RCA cables. Plug the single cable from the adaptor into the sub pre-out connection from the receiver and then hook it up to the two subwoofers They are mono speakers so you only need one cable, red or white, to go to each one.
A:AnswerPowered from the receiver; no amplifier is included. Pros: no need for AC power. Cons: Power draw on receiver; possible clarity issues at high volumes.
A:AnswerIt has a separate wall plug for power, and a separate power switch. However, it has an automatic power on feature, so you "turn it on" and leave it -- it detects when it's not in use and powers down when nothing's playing, then turns itself back on whenever the receiver starts.
A:AnswerYou would need to use this along with other speakers, as the cutoff is too low to use as a normal full range speaker. It's a powered subwoofer, not a full range loud speaker.
