The Bluetooth feature on this receiver allows you to receive audio content from a Walkman, smartphone, or tablet that has a Bluetooth function and listen to it via this receiver. QuestionShould a preamp be used with this receiver? I have a Rolls phono preamp VP 29. When I had it hooked up, it distorted the sound significantly, but without the preamp, I have to raise the volume considerably to get good sound. Any thoughts?

- Answer Hi nirsighted, Thank you for your interest in the STRDH190. Unfortunately, no. An equalizer/preamp needs to be connected to the tape monitor loop on an AV receiver in order to operate. The current line of Sony receivers does not have a tape monitor loop. For this reason, it is not possible to connect an add-on equalizer to current Sony AV receivers. NOTE: Most Sony receivers feature a built-in Digital Signal Processing (DSP) Equalizer. The addition of an equalizer is not needed and would provide no additional benefit to the overall sound output of the receiver. Regards, Sam

QuestionCan I hook up two Aiwa 60W 6 ohm speakers with traditional copper speaker wires (one positive one negative) to this amplifier? (See pic) Will I also be able to hook the amplifier up to a smart TV and get the same sound out of those two speakers?

Yes! your speakers will work perfectly with the receiver since the STRDH190 requires connecting speakers that are within the impedance rating of 6-16 ohms. QuestionDoes this include a switch to change Ohm settings?

- Answer Yes there is a digital switch reached via the remote. Directions to this is in the manual and an easy setup whether you are using 8 or 6 ohm. Most functions are through remote. Just make sure ohms for speakers match ohm you set. Of course be sure speakers polarity plus and negative are hooked up correctly. Is this unit over the top load? No but plenty load through good speakers. I replaced basically the same unit (10 years old) to get Bluetooth. My old one will find its way to workshop. This one is for my painting studio. Plenty of hookups for CD and turntable. It also has preamp built in. For the price it is very nice. If you want something for surround sound for tv and movies I would look for specifically designed unit. This one is really nice for music. Bluetooth pairs easily. Hope this helps. I know my granddaughters were able to connect with no issues. I had to read manual.

- Answer Hi there, Thank you for your interest in the STRDH190. You can connect your TV to the RCA audio IN port of the receiver and pair your phone to the receiver via Bluetooth connection. However, there are no HDMI inputs to connect your Roku device. I would recommend connecting your Roku to your TV instead. Hope this helps! -Sam

- Answer Hi Dabis, The speaker output can only be switched to mono when listening to FM tuner (Refer to the link below for instructions.). QuestionWhat version is the bluetooth in the receiver? I have a receiver with an older version of bluetooth and the delay is frustrating. I will be using it with my computer for zoom meetings, would there be any delay causing unsynchronized picture to voice?

If you ever experience a delay, or if the sound skips, please follow the guidelines below: • The receiver and the BLUETOOTH device are too far apart. • If there are obstructions between the receiver and your BLUETOOTH device, remove these or move the receiver and/or device avoid them. • If there is a device that generates electromagnetic radiation, such as a wireless LAN, other BLUETOOTH device, or a microwave oven nearby, move it away.
