A:AnswerHi, TomObenschain!
6 to 16 ohms is the required speaker impedance to this AV receiver. No audio may occur if you connect speakers that are not within the speaker impedance.

David
A:AnswerHi, Harley! To connect a turntable that only has a PHONO output jack, you need to connect a phono equalizer (not supplied) between the turntable and this receiver. ~Ralph

A:AnswerThat's exactly what I use it for... but I run the output to my 4K LED, instead of a projector. I wouldn't see why there would be any difference what video display you use. Plus, it works better to use the 4K pass through with this reciever... now I don't have any audio/video syncing issues, as I did with having the audio and video going through my TV separately(via optical cable and HDMI). Now both are fed through the reciever with one HDMI input to output.
A:AnswerHaven't tried that, so not entirely sure, but best guess is maybe. The speaker terminals are front, center, and surround (and subwoofer). There is not the typical A/B speaker set up. The manual says that when 2 channel stereo is selected "the sound field is suited for playing back audio signals as they are from two front speakers only, without adding any virtual surround effect. The sound is output from the front left/right speakers only."
But if your input signal is 2 channel (no surround) and you select Multi-ch Stereo, there's a chance it will send the same 2 channel signal to the front and surrounds. Sorry couldn't be more definite.
A:AnswerI haven’t tried but my experience so far only one device can be selected for play. There may be a way but that is something that Sony could answer.

A:AnswerHi Heavyman11,
You can only hook up speakers to this AV receiver using a speaker cable. Speakers must have a nominal impedance of 6 ohms to 16 ohms otherwise it will not work. See page 15 for more information.
