QuestionI have Sony 5.1 Surround Sound Receiver STR-K675P but the front screen is no longer readable. Would this receiver work with the speakers that came with it?

- Answer It should be fine with your existing speakers. If you now have a subwoofer, 2 front, 2 rear and center speakers connected this will work. This receiver can be configured for 5.1/5.2 as well as 7.1/7.2. I am not an audiophile for sure, but it sounds great especially with dual subs.

QuestionWhy sony receivers heating up and turning off after 30-40 minutes of use. The impedance are all within range .

- Answer I had this issue too. Right out of the box first time use. I was about to return it! What i did was disconnect all the speaker cablea and re connected them. I made sure they were properly connected and tight. This immediately fix the issue. Now it has not turning off and i can watch my movies! Hope this helps.

- Answer Check the troubleshooter in manual and online. Some surround formats do not use center channel. It took me a week to adjust my 5.1 speakers to satisfaction.

- Answer It has tons of features, including the calibration mic and ability to adjust to any speaker set up 7.2 and below...So if you have less than the full 7.2 it will be great. Also it's a small unit but has all the bells and whistles and with 145w per channel enough power for any speaker. I think you'll be happy with this receiver compared to any higher end that's double the price.

QuestionWe have a Sony AV System 3 Receiver and Remote that we bought in 2004. We are not sure if it is the remote or the receiver that isn't working. If we bought a STRDH790 receiver and remote, would that be compatible with all the other components we have?

- Answer As far as speakers go, yes they should work. There are very few instances where they wouldn’t be compatible. Mine is set up with two speaker sets from different manufacturers and works perfectly well.
