• A:Answer I’ve owned 4 Sony projectors. I don’t know recall the first one. The others were VPL-VW100, VPL-VW325ES and VPL-XW5000. All of those had the same mounting bracket to hang from the ceiling.

• A:Answer This has no built in streaming services. You have to supply all the inputs to it. I would recommend going into a receiver with hdmi IN and then just have one hdmi cable out to the projector. The hdmi outs are on the side, so a streaming stick plugged in would look a little odd.

• A:Answer Sony's recommended throw distance is 6.5' - 20.1' You would need to ceiling mount for this projector at 20' or less from the screen for the best results. As a side note: None of the current laser line from Sony or JVC have a through distance of 50'. This long distance would reduce light hitting the screen anyway. Your best option is to ceiling mount as close as you can to the screen while still maintaining the image size you need to fill your screen.

Q: QuestionLooking for a above average screen to pair with this projector. In reviewing most new screens looks like they are built for short throw projectors. Can I use one that is listed as a short throw for this projector. Or any good recommendation.

• A:Answer This projector will not work with a (UST) Ultra Short Throw screen. UST (ultra-short-throw) screens are designed to reject light straight on and only accept light from the bottom. A UST projector sits about 2 feet from the screen-bottom (some can be ceiling mounted upside-down). Then there are "Short Throw" projectors that point sit about 6-10 ft away from the screen but point directly at at the screen. The Sony XW5000 is a standard throw projector which works best with a screen with gain of up to zero to 1.3 . This projector does not need a high gain screen or a grey screen. #1. Decide do you need a fixed screen or a pull-down screen or motorized dropdown. If you want a screen that drops down, you want a tensioned screen. Otherwise there will be some ripples in the screen. #2. How much are you willing to spend. Plan to spending $400 to $1000 and more if you want motorized. #3. Select a screen with minimal gain and standard throw and the screen at least needs to be rated for HD but should state 4K. This matters due to texture. You want the very smooth surface. You do not want a woven fabric screen. This is a typical screen that would work with this projector. Model:NS-SCR100FIX19W SKU:6416551 I recommend you ask questions at Best Buy since the above screen specs do not clearly state gain factor. This screen is better and has a gain of 1:1 Model:AR100WH2 SKU:3980141
