- Answer Hi Bob1313, Yes, it can connect to your existing Internet source via Ethernet cable. Depending on whether you want to use the Deco as your router, or as an Access Point, you will want to select the proper operating mode during setup using the Deco app.

- Answer Hi Chris, Depending on where you install the Deco X50 Outdoor, it may work. Please note that if you do not already have a Deco Mesh System, the Deco X50 Outdoor will need to be wired to your existing network via Ethernet cable. However, this may work in your favor, as it will provide the most reliable signal to the device. You will need to position it as near to the Garage as possible for best results.

QuestionHi, I have a Google mesh in the house. Would the TP-Link work with my Google? Would love to get a better signal in the yard. I have a 5 acre lot and right now, you only can use devices if you are right near the house.

- Answer Hi KennyKool, The Deco X50 can be connected to your network via Ethernet cable and set up in Access Point Mode. It will not wirelessly mesh with your existing Google Mesh, since each has proprietary systems, apps, and features.

- Answer Hi RC, Cat5 can be used for data connectivity; however, please bear in mind that Cat5 is rated for up to 100 Mbps and is sub-optimal for use with PoE devices. Generally speaking, for a Gigabit Ethernet device, and if you intend to power it via PoE, we highly suggest Cat5e for best results.

- Answer If the two Decos are communicating with each other wirelessly they will need to be within range of each other, just like your phone needs to be within range of the router to connect to its wireless. We recommend 25-30 between the units. If this is not possible then running a Ethernet cord between the two units would be a viable option.

- Answer Hi! The Deco X50-Outdoor is designed for up to 2500 sq ft of omnidirectional outdoor Wi-Fi coverage, with the Deco X50-Outdoor at the center of that coverage area. Please bear in mind that environmental factors will play a role in how much coverage you can achieve in your network setup.

- Answer Hi! To answer your first question, yes; however, you would need to run it in Access Point Mode and connect it to your existing router via Ethernet cable. To your second question, as long as it is a Deco Mesh Wi-Fi system, the Deco X50-Outdoor will seamlessly integrate via the Deco app.

QuestionI was wondering if the router’s efficiency will diminish if I do put a cover, like a fake rock, over top of it. This will be going in my garden, and I’d like to see it camouflaged in some way

- Answer I would say any covering would diminish the signal, but it’s recommended to be placed off the ground (mine is 11 feet high) for better reception and broadcast.

- Answer That will depend on the model of your existing router. If it is a Deco Mesh router, then yes, you can simply add this to it using the Deco app and Deco Mesh connectivity. However, if it is not a Deco Mesh Router, then this Deco X50 would need to be connected to your existing network via Ethernet cable.

- Answer Adding a second X50 should work, but I would recommend replacing your ‘source’ signal with the same brand. Deco makes a 3-pack mesh system. Tie the X50 to the indoor mesh and check your coverage. You can always easily add a second X50 if needed.

- Answer I would recommend placing the X50 outdoors, in line of sight of your source. I would also recommend your source be the same brand so they can easily ‘talk’ to each other. You can check your signal in the shed after set up. The X50 will give you options to hardwire to a single Deco inside the shed, if needed.
