• A:Answer Hi Joe, great question. If your viewing device (e.g., smartphone) is not on the same Wi-Fi network when viewing the live stream, you will be prompted to continue streaming after 5 minutes. However, if your smartphone is on the same local network as the camera, there is no time limit prompt when viewing the live stream.

Q: QuestionCan I mount this camera inside to record outside through glass?

• A:Answer Theoretically, yes. However, there will be some limitations, depending on your monitoring needs. For example, if you intend to use infrared night vision in any way, placing the camera behind glass will cause extreme distortion of the video/image due to the infrared LED lighting being reflected off the glass back into the camera lens. You will need to disable infrared night vision within the Tapo app and ensure the monitored area has plentiful ambient lighting at night. Additionally, you may not be able to fully utilize the pan/tilt range of the camera, depending on the placement of it and the location/size of the window.

Q: QuestionHello, TP-Link says this is supposed to have color night vision, but all the pictures people uploaded are b/w. Is this color night vision or not?

• A:Answer Color Night Vision is more of a misnomer than anything else. This feature only works in low-light conditions, for example, when it's dusk outside or when there are a lot of street lights and a porch light illuminating the area outside at night. When there is no light or an extremely low level of light, the image is in black and white. If you're using this inside a room with the lights off, it will always be black and white.

Q: QuestionI watched a youtube video that said if you record your clips to an SD card then you can only watch them back when you are back home connected to the same network as the camera. Is that true? So if I'm on vacation I won't get alerts and can't view them?

• A:Answer Hi! No, you can view and manage the camera remotely, and receive notifications, as long as the camera and your smartphone have Internet connectivity. You can view recorded clips that are stored on the Micro SD card remotely, as well.
