A:AnswerNot to my knowledge to both questions. There is no port. Need to use speakerphone button. The newer model audio ringer and dialing out sounds distorted or it could be comcast poor service. Battery life quality has gone down from my old vtech and it did annouce who was calling which this one justs beeps. Older ipads have jacks.
A:AnswerRJ - The VTech CS5129-26 is a plug and play unit. It will get a dial tone as soon as plugged in on an active line and there is no other settings to change for the unit to work. A:AnswerMaggie - You can connect the VTech CS5129-26 on a different jack on the same line where the other Vtech phone is connected but the cordless handset from one base will not communicate with the handsets from another base.
