If I recall, your MacBook Pro comes with USB 2.0 ports, whereas the drive includes USB 3.0. USB 3.0 is, however, backwards compatible, so no problem there. You might want to reformat/repartition the drive to an Apple format instead of leaving it as a FAT file system.
