      • Answer There is a software app on the drive to get it to talk with your Mac. I am using it for time machine backups on my iMac. The one thing I have noticed is that periodically the computer will not automatically back up to the drive. The drive is there but somehow time machine backup doesn't see it. I click on the drive and the app that allows the drive and computer to communicate and then it works again.

      • Answer As long as the drive is connected to a computer and you connect your phone or SD card if pictures are saved there, then there will be no problem whatsoever. I bought it to take all of the pictures off off my Galaxy S10 , and my daughters pictures off of my computer I had to reset. So all in all it is a great to buy I love using it mainly for my downloaded movies. Also it's pretty convenient to hold 5 Trig's in the palm of your hand.

    • Questiondoes this require anything special like software or drivers? I want to use forever to store pictures and video. I have an older external hard drive that I can't even acces anything on it now because its outdated or not compatible with my new laptop.

      • Answer Nothing special is needed. I use one of these drives as my picture and video vault. When I want to move some files from my main computer for storage, I just plug the drive into an empty port and copy the file to the hard drive for storage. Works like a charm.

      • Answer Yes to the volume, but the version of Windows you are using matters. If you are using Windows 10 Pro or Enterprise, you can use Bitlocker: Step 1: Connect the external hard drive to your computer via a USB slot. Step 2: Go to This PC, right-click on the external hard drive volume and select Turn on BitLocker option from the context menu. Step 3: Choose the option “Use a password to unlock the drive”, then enter a password and click Next. If you are using Windows 10 Home, I would download TrueCrypt. Good luck.

      • Answer Yes. I don’t notice any lag other than loading times, but that’s normal. I hooked this one up to my Xbox One X and it works like a charm.

      • Answer I see no reason why these would not work with Win 11. They are not changing the file system. I own 8 of these drives and plan to upgrade to Windows 11.

    • QuestionIs this externally powered ?? OR is it ONLY powered by USB ?? I have ALOT of other USB devices already plugged into my CPU currently, with a powered external extra ports adapter. I don't want to OVERLOAD my CPU PSU. That's why I'm asking.

      • Answer most solid state flash ( thumb drives) are formatted for MAC and are readable on windows..that is what i have experienced. For a long time i had an older 2tb Passport formatted for Mac that I was using on my windows...and a friend was using on his super Mac...If you format the hard drive on your Mac first you should be able to use it on your windows based PC. Just remember that formatting it will erase everything on it so back it up

However, due to PS5 restrictions, games can only be played off the console’s internal SSD.       • Answer The drive comes with a USB cable to connect to computers. I always download from my computer. I am not aware of any cables to download directly from the iPhone. I also have an iPhone and several flash drives to download from iPhone, but I'm not aware of a lightning cable with the proper connections to download direct from phone to hard drive. There is no Wifi.

      • Answer The disk is USB attached so you would need a computer or router on your home network that can create a "share" that other devices can "connect to". I think you want a device with a network attachment which has a very minimal computer builtin that lets it connect to the network and share it's internal disk. Look for something that's described as a personal NAS or backup drive, and make sure it has either an Ethernet port or that it can connect to your network using WiFi.

      • Answer Absolutely, in fact I transferred games I had backed up on another drive to this 5TB Western Digital. The process requires you to load them back onto the PS4 first which while a bit time consuming is just a quirk of the PS4 system. Otherwise, it is a simple USB connection and tell the PS4 to format your drive, then the process is automatic from that point forward. The Playstation website has instructions if you run into any difficulty on the set-up.

      • Answer It really just depends on how much storage each game needs. For example, My largest game is 96gb. Which means that if I stored nothing but games that need 96gb of space I could store about 53 games but I have games that need as little as 2gb so I can fit a lot more than 53 games total.
