QuestionHow long is the power cord? Can it be used with a heavy-duty extension cord?

- Answer I suppose it depends on your tolerance, but we do not find it so. We have had guests twice now who have used it and they thought it was quiet enough. Our granddaughter says it's like a white noise machine which she sleeps with at home.

QuestionHow long is the vent hose and does it need to be vented for heater use?

- Answer The heater does have to be vented. At first i didn't like this, but I realized this is preferable as we installed it for summer a/c and have left it installed as we're now using it for the heat. I'm not sure of the exact hose length, but it's not too long as the unit has to sit in front of the window due to hose length.

QuestionIs this a self evaporating unit? Meaning does it need to be drained constantly?

- Answer Hi Melanie,
  
  The air conditioner uses the patented auto drain or self-evaporative technology which exhausts condensation automatically in most environments. Please note that if the humidity is very high, the auto drain function will still exhaust the majority of the moisture. The remaining moisture will be collected in the water tank at the base of the air conditioner and continue to self-evaporate until the tank becomes full and requires manual drainage.
  
  If continuous drainage is necessary, a hose can be installed to the upper drain port for continuous gravity drainage or the pump drain hose can be installed. When continuous drainage is set up, the collected moisture will be drained through the hose and not drain down into the water tank and will not self-evaporate.
