The new TV with Optical or Coax sound output would not work with my sound system. The Insignia D to A converter solved this problem. Great product, nice price.

After reviewing several brands, I went with this one. It's an inexpensive little converter compared to some on the market, and was readily available at my local Best Buy to try. When I initially connected it, there was nothing but static (much like the other poor reviews stated). After a little research, I found I had to change the TV default audio settings, now there's no problem with sound! Saw other reviews where the audio sync is a little off from the video, but I haven't experienced any sync issues. Definitely happy with this purchase and really enhances our 4k experience!

I have an older Yamaha receiver, and a new Sony smart tv, so I needed to convert from optical to analog in order to enjoy hearing streaming music and music videos. When you plug this unit in, it stays on all the time, so I used my switched outlet on my Yamaha so it turns off with the power.

I needed this to connect it to the Sound Bar that I didn't want to replace yet when it still works great. Hook up is easy and it works very well.

Despite explaining in great detail and speaking to 3 Best Buy reps including a supposed best sales associate in store I was at first presented with misinformation that the tv itself had an audio out jack that I could use. After purchasing the tv and unboxing I was totally upset to notice that the tv despite my conversations didn't have the intended audio jack. So, after returning to the same store and then locating the needed product I was greeting by another associate who after explaining my experience exactly knew what I needed and too was upset I had been ran around the bushes. So I purchased the reviewed item installed in less than 2 minutes and all was in great order.

The reason I returned the product is because when I hooked up headphones i could not control the volume. I purchased another product, a wireless headphone.
