Many find the setup process quick and easy, and appreciate the high power and additional features offered at its price point. Faulty HDMI Input For Audio

I bought this unit in refurbished “excellent” condition and it has been nothing but problems. The unit stops playing audio randomly when using HDMI eARC connection to my TV. I have tried multiple HDMI cables including newer spec verified and am still having the same issue. This unit was obviously not tested and not in excellent condition. Now it is outside of the return period and I am stuck with this unit.

This is a horrible product. I bought it 5 months ago and it has been back and forth for 4 of those months for warranty service. Could not exchange because of Best Buy 15 day policy which I think is stupid. So out of the 5 months I only had it for 30 days. I would not buy this product. Do your research even on the internet people are complaining about this product.Buy Denon or marantz. Run from this product

Hooked it up and ran the setup just fine. Tried to watch and movie and it shut off. I just displays random errors like speaker shorts. Disconnected EVERYTHING and turned it on. Still shut off. I was able to get it to stay on long enough to do a hard reset and still has problems. Completely useless out of the box like many other buyers have said.
As for the little time I had with this I felt the sound was not any better then my non HDMI yamaha I was using. The yamaha from 20 years ago is very good and no issues yet. I will be returning this for the Denon I should have bought in the first place.

The receiver is awesome. I'm not happy with best buy on this one. I bought an excellent rated open box. I did not receive what I was sold. Nothing was in the box except the receiver. No remote or paperwork. The item was a great price but not what was advertised. Buyer beware when buying open box online.

I completely regret not going with my usual brand Denon and that I didn't return it at the outset. A normal time watching TV for me: Turn on my receiver and TV (tried different order multiple times), turn on my connected device (PC, PS5, 4K player), play something, no audio, have to get back up from the couch to unplug the receive, then it works. When using it with my PC, I often hear horrible clicking sounds until I turn off and turn on again. This occurs, at times, multiple times per day, as I switch between devices. My previous 3 Denons never did this. I regret buying it because Onkyo is now synonymous work when I want to relax.

Had issues with setup menu. Also didn’t seem to perform better than the NR5100 for the price increase.

Don’t Purchase From Best Buy

I purchsed this unit from Best Buy and now it requires repair which the nearest store is over 2 hrs away from me and they don’t have an option to send it UPS or any other option so i can get it repaired without driving 5 hrs round trip to drop it off snd then I would have to drive another 5 hours after it’s repaired… if they actually can repair it!! Best Buy should offer a way to send in the unit for repair… I don’t care if I have to pay the shipping cost… I’m done with Best Buy!!!!!

Happy with this one the last 3 high end receivers I bought were very disappointing, so I went with a lesser expensive option. it performs better and more reliably than options costing twice and 3 times as much. only quirk is the software is a little sluggish and cumbersome.

Very happy with the receiver's performance but, as I found in other reviews, the HDMI out board fails.
I've had mine a couple of years and will not be replacing it with an Onkyo.
