This product is a outstanding alternative to wireless internet if living in a apartment or dorm where you dont want wires all over.
Also It seems to be a more reliable and faster connection. I have had this product for several months now and it works great .

I was always more than a bit skeptical in the past about using electrical wiring through electrical outlets to network computers at home, but decided to bite the bullet and purchase this product along with an additional two-piece package for other computers. The hookup was as simple as it gets and it worked flawlessly right out of the box (and the wiring in my house is, shall we say, OLD). I have a FiOS 50 mbit connection and when I tested the download speeds on my wife's networked computer and the Samsung Blu-Ray player and HDTV I was getting around 44 mbit speeds. Very impressive for something that plugs into an electrical wall jack in my opinion. So far I'm VERY happy with this purchase and would definitely buy additional devices if I ever want to network more computers. No more hassle of routing cables through my house! Yay!

Over the years I've run all sorts of wires and cables throughout the house and - even worse- to my outdoor room. Nothing quite like trying to string across the attic, down walls, out the sides of the house and out to the room- ugh, just the thought of another run... Then I spotted these babies again. Sure I'd seen them over the years, but they just seemed too easy. "Can't work!- too simple!" I always told myself.
But, after months of searching for the right path for yet another cable to my outdoor paradise (ethernet this time) I finally broke down and took a chance on doing it the EASY way. MAN, I'm glad I did!!!! I simply went out and plugged one adapter in the room and the other to my router, which had just enough wall interference not to reach out there, and voila! Netflix, PS3 online, and everything else in less than 3 minutes! It worked so well I immediately ordered a second pair to get rid of my wife's wireless adapter on her pc, as Cox's connection would bug out about 500 times a day. Not a single knockoff since!
GREAT product

I had no idea this product existed. I needed something for my Playstation, as moving to new home there was too much distance between my router and entertainment system for an ethernet cord. I went searching for an alternative and found this item, figured I would give it a shot.
Set-up is straightforward and extremely easy. And it works! Haven't had a problem, just the occasional drop from Playstation Network, but that could be their servers, no telling.

This is easily my best tech purchase of the year.
With this device it takes seconds to get wired internet access anywhere you have a power outlet. The connection was faster in some outlets than others, probably due to the load on the circuit loop.
If for some reason you have more than one electrical panel, keep in mind this won't go panel-to-panel.

Couldn't be simpler. You plug it into your router, and then into the wall plug. You plug another adapter into each computer or device, no matter where in the house it is, and plug it into the wall. You have instant networking that is faster than wireless with no installation problems or costs.

I originally bought a different adapter kit from Wal-mart, it was clumsy, had a CD to install it, i had to use a COMPUTER, I needed passwords that I didn't have, etc. so, I returned it & went to the experts at Best Buy. I told them that I was "technologically challenged" & they recommended this home theater network adapter/range extender. It was so easy to install, I plugged it into the router & the wall, took the other one & plugged it into my TV & the wall and voila - DONE! As easy as plugging in a plug. That's it! Literally. I would recommend this unit to everyone. Oh, and I never had another problem streaming anything to my TV again. Whether it's Netflix, Amazon or YouTube, it's super clear, never interrupted and I wonder why I didn't buy this sooner. For everyone waiting for Netflix as it's "loading" forever & ever, buy this, and watch your program rather than a circle going around and around.

this little duo has saved me hundreds annually. My wife and I work from home and we need our space, unfortunately wifi from two diiferent parts of the house was not an option due to both systems requiring hard wire, the options were to buy a new desktop with wifi or install a separate internet connection creating two bills or this Ethernet extender for under $100 and allows full connection speeds. I chose the cheaper route and won. Be mindful it may be buggy at times with random drops but it does the job

I needed Ethernet access for a desktop computer that I put in a bedroom. I could have used a wireless adapter but tried this option instead because I worried about Internet interference using a wireless. This option hasn't disappointed. I gave it four stars because of the price. I probably would wait for the sales price instead of paying the regular price. Other than that, it works great!

I bought this to extend the Ethernet network to an upstairs office. Speeds were good and it was about as easy to install as it could be. It worked great until the electric HVAC kicked on and forced the connection to drop. A lot of reviews I have read are negative in regard to the product. My guess is that the problems users have are related to power conditions within their homes. That's my case.

Plug it in, connect network cables, and you have a direct extension of a hardwire network that is faster than some wireless networks. Now have good connectivity in the far reaches of the house where wireless signal was weak.

Setup was easy, plugged both units into the wall, plugged one into router the other into your device and in 10 seconds I was on the internet. Connection is as solid as being plugged directly into router.

quick easy set up for networking devices that lack wireless capabilities, and sit in spaces in your home where you do not have access to a network jack. If you have a wall electrical outlet, use this and in a few minutes your TV or blueray player is hooked onto the web. I used this to replace a competitors device that had failed. it costs half the price and had same network speed. a win win for me. Recommend without reservations.

These were easy to install and work great. They were also backward compatible to some Trendnet 200 series units I had. The performance seems to be about the same as the 200's. These also to seem to work across electrical phases better than the older models.

The best thing about this adapter is that you don't require to install anything on your devices. It's truly a plug & play. Connect one adapter to your router or switch via the Ethernet port and then plug it into a power outlet. Connect your device (printer, PC, game console, etc.) to the other adapter and plug it to a power outlet too. That's all!
Another great advantage is that you can buy additional adapters and grow your network, up to 254 of them.
Great speed, no issues, and no damage to your devices. I'd been using it for a long time and still running strong.
I highly recommend it to anybody.

Easy painless way to get network connection in home office without worrying about wi-fi. Speeds are great, can stream Netflix or YouTube without issue. A few months after purchase, one of adapters went dead though. Not sure if had power surge or just failed on its own, but was hoping for it to last longer. Oh well, just bought another set and still working fine.

If you need to move internet signal from a broadband modem to a room several hundreds of feet away, this is your tool of choice. Easy to set up, relatively inexpensive and pretty foolproof, this Powerline internet adapter makes adding an internet port very easy.
The only confusing thing for me was realizing that each device has to have a sender and a receiver. I bought two sets thinking I could send signal with one device and receive with the other three. No can do. Make sure you have one send and one receive for each remote port you're trying to set up.
It works great, is faster than my router and modem and tells me so pretty regularly. It's really taken the load off of my wireless router, too. A suitable choice when thinking about how to get reliable internet where you want it.

My father purchased this first for his computer because it allowed the wifi range in his house to expand so his computer could connect. He bought my son a gaming computer and told me that the wifi didn't pick up too strong of a signal, and recommended this. I purchased it for my sons bedroom, it was very easy to install. He gets great wifi reception and his computer is super fast. I would recommend this to anyone living in a big space that uses a lot of wifi for a wide range of devices.

Was having a problem with constant buffering on Netflix, even with a Wi-Fi range extender. The Actiontec powerlines solved the problem. Not only was it a no-brainer to setup, but my Netflix buffering problem stopped.
I plugged an ethernet cable into the back of my Apple TV2 and the other end into the powerline adapter and BINGO it worked.
To setup, I ran an ethernet cable from my network switch to the first powerline and plugged it into a wall socket. The second unit (that I used for my Apple TV) was used in the upstairs bedroom.
Comes with two ethernet cables. Instructions are from hunger but you really don't need any. This is perfect for the novice.
