Awesome parental control. Good build quality and an unfortunate software issue when the little ones fill up the memory but none of that was an issue for us because we, as parents were always aware of how our 7yo son was using it. But, ultimately it was the lack of content that caused us to return it. This would have been absolutely perfect for him when he was 4 or 5 years old but now, even with the Amazon content there was very little for him to look forward to. Sure there were plenty of books but we also read real books and most of the characters and apps that he was familiar with were "used up" in the first week. Add that to the fact that none of the fun, forward thinking apps were available (like Lego movie maker for instance) or looked as though they would be anytime soon. I'd say this is perfect for younger kids but compares not at all to a real iPad or android tablet with restrictions on them.

It's good enough, but not as good as it could be.
Cons
- the processor seems underpowered, causing occasional, though not frequent lag.
- Slightly under half the storage space is used right out of the box
- Interface is not intuitive when it comes to adding new books and apps for you child.
Pros:
-Comes with lots of children's books, and apps.
-Solid warrantee.
-1 year of Amazon Free Time Unlimited.
-It can be used as normal Fire for the parents. Just make sure your kids don't know your passcode.
-Good parental controls (Though not necessarily intuitive)
It's good enough, but I think we would have been better off buying a normal Fire, and purchasing a protective skin for it.

Pros: Durable, long battery life, charges decently fast, easy to use.
All apps work without being connected to wi-fi.
Cons: 8gb memory could be an issue if not monitored.

This tablet is what all kids should have! The case totally protects it plus the warranty is the best out there. Not to mention that it works great and comes with access to all kinds of apps kids love!

After sharing my personal kindle fire with my daughter we decided that she was interested enough in the device to have her own. The 6 inch size is perfect for her small hands and looks strudy enough to endure her carefree moments. It came with a year of free kids time which we were paying $4.99 per month for on my personal kindle fire and also includes a 2 year worry free guarantee. The only thing that was missing from this purchase were the lack of color options at Best Buy.

I like that inappropriate material can not be viewed on this version, but it is not the best system. Small memory, locks up all the time, but I do like the case. Not sure what people are complaining about! If it weren't for the case, this thing would have been shattered by now!!
Over all, for a young kid, it's fine. I think the 8 & above crowd might not like it too much, though.

I bought 2 for my brother and sister, and they absolutely love them. Very easy to use, very easy to set parental controls, and also limit what kids can do - for example if they try to download an app that costs money, I have it set so I have to enter my password and approve it, it will not automatically charge my card. The case is great too, they have dropped these more times than I can count and they are still good as new. The battery drains pretty quickly, but with how much the kids use them that was to be expected. Very pleased with the purchase, and even more pleased that they have finally stopped asking to play with my cell phone.

This Tablet is wonderful, I bought this tablet for my 4 years old daughter and she loves it, it is a great learning tool for children and easy to use, very user friendly, it has some many games, books, and cartoons for kids to keep them entertained for hours. Also I like this product because of the parental controls and its cool because I could also use the tablet as well with the adult settings.

I truly enjoy the Kindle kid Fire HD tablet for my granddaughter. she is only 3 and she can operate the tablet with ease I like how she is able to watch her movies and play her game on Kindle kids time site. I would recommend this tablet to any parent because it's small enough for a child to be able to handle and operate and I love the secure case it comes in.

I got this tablet for my 3 year old daughter since all her older siblings have iPads and she was feeling left out. It's a great, cheaper alternative for all the expensive tablets out there. If you have young kids, this is a great starter tablet for them with plenty of apps to keep them busy and entertained. Easy to use and it charges relatively quickly in my experience.

I bought this for my niece who is 8 and she really loves the unit. The screen and picture are very good. The music and video access is a big hit. Just like with any kid, Apps are a big hit. It also came with a year membership to Amazon Prime which allows free 2 day shipping with all "Prime" orders. Having kids myself, the Amazon backed breakage warranty for two years is a very nice feature as it stinks to have a kid who enjoys something like this and then an accident occurs.

My Granddaughter turned 2 and I had to buy her a tablet so she would give me back my iPhone. Lol. Hundreds of different apps to choose from. Excellent warranty If she breaks it or spills liquid on it, it's covered. The Fire comes with a case that is just right for little hands. She really gets into playing the educational apps we've loaded onto it . Perfect !

I bought this for my 8 year old grandson and he LOVES it!! He never wants to put it down. Having the case it comes with is a must for kids. If you bought just the case it's $50-$65.00 so this is an excellant deal. You have to set it up with a credit card to really be able to do anything BUT you can set up a seperate profile for a child but I haven't been able to figure out how to get the child profile to be able to play games, watch movies etc so I have to allow him on mine which gives him access to buy things. There needs to be a way to allow the child profile to do everything but set it up to prevent them from being able to charge. There may be a way but I haven't been able to figure it out.

This tablet is absolutely perfect for my 2 1/2 year old niece! She loves to play and explore the games, and the parental controls are great for my sister and her husband to set limits on the amount of time she spends on it. With educational games to boost her learning and help with motor skills, she has really taken flight. Having it in a durable case and a 2 year warranty included is a great benefit too. I highly recommend it!

I bought this tablet for my granddaughter who just turned 4. She can operate this device with ease and I love the educational benefits that she's getting from it. She can entertain herself with stories being read to her, puzzles and so much more. Overall, I thought e price was good for this product, and that the tablet is sturdy and durable. The battery life seems to be good too.

We purchased two of these for our 6 and 4 year old. They love the Kids Freetime and never run out of things to play, watch, or read. The cases are cute and very protective. We should know, they have been dropped many times with no issues. A huge selling point for us was the 2 year warranty included with the kids edition. It makes this purchase worry free!

Great/sturdy tablet for my 5 yr old. Able to downlad education app's and games. She wanted a tablet for Xmas as she enjoys using my wife's iPad and I have a 2-in-1 HP.
Screen/machine was a little smaller than I expected (ordered online) but perfect for smaller hands and being older I don't have any issues reading the display which is bright and crisp.

We purchased this kids edition Fire HD for our 3 year grandson for Christmas and he just loves it. After his parents set up his profile he easily finds the things he likes to watch. It is a great size for him and the case is great for a child. When purchasing this there was a 2 year 'no questions asked' warranty included which helped our decision.

Overall I would recommend it. It does get glitchy when playing games, watching videos or switching profiles sometimes. This gets frustrating for my child when it happens that she ends up throwing it. (The case comes in handy when this happens) The reason we bought this for my daughter was so that she could watch Youtube videos on it instead of hogging our phones or tablets. Well, she could only watch them under my profile since her profile, which is based by age, would not allow it. I do like that her profile only allows pre set apps, games, & books, but it is annoying having to switch profiles & enter your password any time she wants to watch Youtube. It does have great educational apps, games, & books. It keeps her entertained & she is constantly learning new things, which is great!

The tablet and features are really great... And the protection plan and free Amazon app is amazing... Only downfall is the memory is terrible. My daughter has to constantly delete games just so she can use the tablet
