The MacBook Pro is amazing machine to use. Powerful, fast and steady. The flat keysTake some getting used to and they definitely could add another port or two but aside from that it’s a fantastic buy if you love Apple products.

A lot of users complain about the butterfly keyboard and shorter travel between keys. It takes an adjustment period but I like this keyboard. The computer provides me with enough power and speed for web development and coding. I’ll keep this model (2017) until I upgrade. Worthy investment. /bklyn

The Mac-book Pro adds prestige in business sales situations. It is a good computer, yes, but the primary advantage to me is that my clients marvel at its sleek form and name brand. Even other Mac Book owners appreciate the confirmation of their good judgement in their purchase when the see my unit. I carry the silver version of the laptop in a silver briefcase along with the Magic Mouse. It is very functional and looks great.

Works perfectly. I ordered it online the morning I got it and Best Buy cancelled my order after I went to see if it was ready. I then had to pay with cash at a register. Not impressed with them canceling it.

Bought an Apple - MacBook Pro® - 13" Display - Intel Core i5 - 8 GB Memory - 256GB Flash Storage (Latest Model) - Space Gray for my wife. She loves it - great display, long battery life, lightweight, responsive keys, good storage and fast processor.

This is my second MacBook Pro and I must say I love it! Much lighter than my previous MacBook, purchased this in space grey which is different than my previous model and I must say it has a nice look to it. The colors are vibrant and I can surf the web quickly and without delay. Only downside is it does not have a usb hook up, you have to purchase a separate connection if you want to utilize that feature. Also a negative is the power cord it’s not very flexible as my previous cord was easier to hook up and remove. Overall I am happy with the product and would recommend it to anyone who is on the market for a new laptop.

The Pros: - Performance is top notch - The larger mousing pad is a big improvement - I like that even though this is the 13' the speakers are next to the keyboard - The display is a great upgrade - Thin and lightweight (amazing for previous MacBook Pros) Undecided: - The new keyboard does take some getting use to Cons: - Pricey (but this is to be expected for Macs) - Miss the Quick Release Power Connection (make sure you, kids, and pets tread carefully around that power cord!) - Hate that Apple has us dependent on the dongle. Wish it had at least 3 UBS-C rather than just 2

    Windows user moving to Mac

It was a big risk for me to move to mac given that I have used windows all my life. I had a Dell XPS and Dell Alienware. The Bad points: 1. Like all apple products, it is expensive. 2. Few slots and yes you need a converter for most other devices to connect or but more apple products. 3. Since the keyboard working is little different, it will take some time to get a hang of it. 4. Where is my right click, it is little different Windows people. So, again it will take some time. The good points : 1. It is light and easy to carry. 2. Fast charging and got a long battery life. 3. It is fast in booting (SSD does help). 4. Overall fast response and good speed ( I do some image related coding and it requires processing speed). 5. display is amazing and I do feel a difference in the video quality and overall view. I am still getting a hang of it as I have to work on windows laptop for work. But I will say it has quality. Is it worth the price is debatable.

    I'm Split

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I like it and at the same time don't. Here's why. Pro's: - The screen. When I compare this screen to my last laptop or my monitor it's night and day. It's bright, has accurate colors and the resolution is perfect. - The trackpad. This is the best trackpad I've ever used. Nothing compares to this trackpad. The multitouch gestures are great and are very helpful. I thought that by having a trackpad this large would be nuisannce and that my palm would trigger it all the time. The palm rejection is 100% accurate and having a larger trackpad helps. - MacOS. I own an Apple Watch and an iPhone. Up until this point I've been contempt with Windows laptops. Now since owning a Mac I have to say if you have any apple product you'll want a Mac. Everything is synced. My mail, bookmarks, documents, desktop, messages are all synced and so much more. My Apple Watch even unlocks my Mac. This beats Windows Hello, fingerprints and entering in a password. As soon as I open the lid I'm reaching for the keyboard and it's already unlocked. - It's lightweight & fast. Everything that I've thrown at it (I'm a programmer and video editor) has run it well. It's nice to get a machine that is your all in one machine that is this lightweight. - The battery. It lasts pretty long. At the end of every session that I've be done using it (around 5 hours) I put it on the charger when it was at 40%. Con's: - The keyboard. This is Apple's second generation of it's new laptop keyboard nicknamed the "Butterfly Switches." I could only imagine how terrible the first generation was. The biggest issue with the keyboard is sometimes that caps lock button does not work with a regular press like the other keys. And when you press the other keys it's a major adjustment since the keyboard travel is so low. This will be your least favorite keyboard. - USB C ports. Two are not enough sometimes. Of course you can find products and cables in which in reality you only need one cable. However you are going to find yourself buying a lot of usb c perpherials & devices and then unfortunately finding them not meeting your expectations. The first month of owning this product you will be frustrated with this new standard if you have not already switched since you will be reaching into your wallet more and returning products more. - The cooling system. It's bad. When this machine gets hot it stays hot. The only time I found the fans kicking on is when I render a video and at that point I hope you got some headphones because all you'll hear is the fan. - A minor con but it's sharp. I know that sounds weird saying this but you'll definitely feel like you cut yourself sometimes when you handle this machine. Sure it looks cool but how about some cloth or smoother edges Apple? My current setup: - USB C cable from Apple that charges my MacBook. - USB C to HDMI cable. - USB C to USB A cable that connects to my 3 port USB Hub w/ SD card slot. (Sometimes I go on battery power so I can use the HDMI and USB hub at the same time). - Bluetooth mechanical external keyboard (because the Mac keyboard sucks). - Logitech M720 Mouse. Overall it's not a bad machine if you get the right setup for it. Out of the box though, it's not that great. Would I recommend it to a friend? Only to a friend who does not type as much as I do.

I had my old MacPro for nine years before needing to replace it. I finally invested into a new one, and so far it's been a pretty seamless transition. POSITIVES: The speed is lightening fast, and it seems to have ample storage. The apps all look different from their appearance on my old MacPro, but that's eight years worth of changes of course. It's very lightweight and the battery life seems to work well so far. The picture is very clear, and the sound is far better than my old MacPro. It syncs to iCloud automatically, which is helpful if you have an iPhone, or iPad. Also, it seems like it's a workhorse and no matter how many windows or apps are running, it pretty much stays as quick as if you were only running one single app. Lastly, I like how I can text from the messages app if I'm working and my phone is nearby-- it's a very unique feature that I didn't expect. NEGATIVES: I bought it for many reasons but primarily business use- which it would have been helpful if I knew that there's no Microsoft Publisher out there compatible for Apple products. I never tried using Publisher on my old MacPro because my laptop was too slow at the time, so I used the computers at school and work. Had I known that there's no Microsoft Publisher I could purchase, I wouldn't have gone with another MacPro unfortunately (I'm a diehard Apple user). It would be nice, especially for students/entrepreneur's if it came with a Microsoft Office upgrade at least for compatibility purposes. While the comparable apps are useful, they just aren't exactly the same as Word, Excel, etc. I wish it had a USB port built in. Instead, you have to purchase one separately. Also, I can't find a way to switch the touchpad so that when I scroll upwards, I go upwards (it's a small glitch and I'm pretty sure it's just user error, but I wish it gave you the option). These are the negatives in my opinion, but the biggest being that there's no Publisher to use. If Microsoft or Apple could come up with Publisher compatible with MacPro (or other Apple products), I would have given the rating five stars.

I upgraded from an old MacBook Pro to this Apple MacBook Pro 13 Display, Intel Core i5. The first impression is it has a good performance, fast processing speed and the battery lasts for a full day. The compact size and light weight makes carrying it so easy. I like the ease of using the touchpad. Overall this Apple product has a great performance at the right price.

Good: The machine is surprisingly small (between the size of the 11" and 13" MacBook Air), light, and powerful with a great screen. Mac OS is great and works well with Apple ecosystem. Bad: Nosebleed pricing, maybe as much as 50% higher than comparable Windows machine. Memory and SSD can't be upgraded so you are forced to overbuy up front. No standard USB ports so you need dongles. No memory slot. Only 2 USB-C ports, one of which needs to be used for charging.

This computer is an excellent buy. Lightweight and great battery. The only thing about this and all the new laptops Apple is coming out with is that you need an adapter for USB, HDMI, extra ports, etc...which I get it. Technology is evolving and in the future every computer is going to go USB-type C. Something like that. Last years model was the last model to have that all included. I just feel like I spent a lot of money on the laptop and I have to spend more to have the connections that I need, like a USB port. Overall, I would have given this and all Apple laptops at the moment a 5 star if it weren't for that problem with buying things and adapters.

This is an excellent product for what I need it for. I got rid of my old desktop & now use this as my main home computer/laptop. I mostly use it for pictures, music, & videoes. I bought the extra memory. The quality is excellent! It's easy to use once you get used To the 'Apple' differences. The ports are different than most accessories require. So you have to buy an adapter. This is irritating because you always have to have this adapter with you. It's a little difficult to get around & find things. It took me a long time & a YouTube video to figure out how to store pictures on my external drive as I want my own copy as well. There are some neat conveniences too such as being able to text on the laptop. There are differences in how you scroll & where to find things. If you are already used to Macs, then this won't be an issue. There seems to be updates constantly though that you have to wait for. It is very light and extremely easy to transport. I also bought the external DVD player which works well with an adapter of course. Overall, the quality & base product is excellent with some minor usage inconveniences.

Needed to purchase a new laptop and couldn't decide. Ended up going for the 13' MacBook Pro. I previously. had the 15' MacBook Pro and really didn't want to veer from that. This new laptop works very well, it starts up when you open the screen (like Chromebooks), and it really light which I can appreciate! You do have to purchase a USB-C adapter for USB/HDMI ports. Also there isn't a slot to insert CDs, which I'm bummed about, but I guess you've got to go with the times.

I have been using this computer for a few months. I upgraded from a retina macbook made within the past 4 years due to my previous one being stolen. Overall, i've been really happy with the computer, but i will put some random thoughts. As a side note, i am a relatively casual user, with some aspects of "power user" (photo/video editing, gaming). -I wouldn't have upgraded, but for the computer getting stolen. I definitely notice a difference in power, but it's marginal enough for what i do that i likely wouldn't do it without a good reason. -Only having USB C ports can be annoying, but devices that support usb c are super fast. It also allows for an external GPU, which i ultimately intend to get. -The laptop can get hot when doing heavy load tasks for an extended basis. If you are the type that likes to plug a lot of things in, i'd consider a different model (either an older model, or the touchbar model as it has 4 usb c ports.) Just know, you will be in dongle purgatory until the industry catches up. But when it does, hopefully it will "pay off".

Light, Slick, and fast. i wish there were all of the ports from the previous models; 2 USC-C ports require adapters to use. The trackpad is great. I prefer the raised keyboard unlike that of the 2018 Macbook air. This uses a SSD instead of flash memory as well.

Bought this for my son’s HS graduation, bought another for myself and oldest son over the last few years. They are fast with beautiful screens. Love not messing with Windows OS. Some crummy design decisions such as usb C only and only 2 ports. I miss the MagSafe connector! I recommend getting one of those side connectors with all the ports you will need. USB c is still not widely used. My last MacBook is still kicking after 10 years. Macs are expensive it worth it in the long run.
