Coming from an M2 Pro 14" Macbook Pro (and previously an M1 16"), I had been missing the larger 16" display for some time - while the 14" was great for portability and travel, I found that I rarely travel and the laptop mostly sits on my desk, so why not make the most of the beautiful screens that these come with? Back to the M4 Pro, it handles all of my digital photography needs with ease. The SD card slot is handy, as always, eliminating the need for a dongle/external reader (though I always carry one just in case). Being able to charge via MagSafe is convenient, but also USB-C charging is a great alternative and means one less cable to carry. The 12MP Center Stage camera is a great improvement, and the screen, oh man, the screen. I can't stop talking about how great it is! The fact that it is *brighter* now at 1000nits, and the existing MiniLED technology means that I get cinema-like display quality when watching netflix/youtube/apple TV but impeccable color accuracy when editing my photos all on the same screen is a win-win. The nano texture feature was appealing, but I decided to pass on that as it is a relatively new feature that hasn't been long-term tested. The speakers sound amazing as well. Overall, while yes the laptop is rather large and not as portable, it makes a great desktop replacement, with the performance to match.

When my 3 year old pc started breaking, camera stopped working, etc. I knew it was time to switch over to Mac for my laptop as well so I could get more years of use. This laptop is super heavy duty, huge screen and user friendly interface (especially if your familiar with Mac products.) The only thing that is taking some getting used to is the keyboard seems smaller/shorter than my last laptop, which I think is because they have upgraded speakers on each side of it. I really like how committed Apple is to user privacy and constantly updating virus protection, that sets it apart from PC as well.

Ive had this MacBook for a year and a month and it has been nothing but flawless! I am a college instructor so i actively rely on my computer for work. My previous Mac lasted from 2015 to 2024 without any issues, they just began discontinuing software updates for my model so I was forced to update. I have made it a point to ran the battery either dead or as close to dead as possible, then fully charging the battery; without sitting around leaving it plugged in. This has dramatically improved the battery life

I got this computer as an artist who wanted to start using more video software and get into 3D design. My old computer couldn't run bigger files and I couldn't multitask with it at all. Basically, I wanted this computer to be an investment. The screen is honestly fantastic (so good, that a lot of background images look blurry because they are not as high quality as the screen). It also really does handle large files great. I'm not super technically savvy.. so if you are this may not be an issue, but my only complaint is the computer is pretty slow depending on what WIFI/internet you have. Before I just thought it was my older laptop but now I have questions. The computer also crashed twice now in only a few weeks while running programs and its difficult to say whether its the programs or computer itself but its been a mildly frustrating experience.

Needed something with more operating memory because i am always running out and this should do the trick. It is a little heavy so would not want to carry it around much.
