Once I got it up and running this router /modem works awesome. runs all my devices with no problems

Setup is longer then I thought. Call ISP, easy setup on their end. Noticed I was getting slower WiFi internet speed then our previous router (DOCSIS 3.0), I became concerned. Wired speed 874 Mbsp and wireless 11.9 Mbsp and only one room away from the router. Had to wait 2 hours for Arris customer service center to open (11am central time). The reviews for the Surfboard app are true, it bad. The waittime was quick, the agent did her best to rectify the problems, but more issues were created. By the end of the call and numerous tries to connect the G34, I had no WI-FI connectivity to our home. Packed the G34 back up and reconnected my old Netgear Blackhawk.

The Arris Surboard G34 I received was Garbage. I purchased it as a New unit. However, I may have been sent a Refurbished one or completely Defective. I just setup with my ISP yesterday. By nighttime the Surboard G34 no longer worked. No lights, No Power, just dead. Plugged into different outlet with lamp that works just to confirm it wasnt an outlet issue and still Nothing. Very expensive piece of garbage. Do Not Recommend

Xfinity advertised this model as compatible. First two weeks it worked great. Then it stopped working - after two calls with xfinity and having a technician come out it still doesn’t work properly. The internet speeds when using a direct line ethernet cord starts out high then drops to nothing. Mobile devices connected to the wi-fi have slow speeds and no speeds - both spouse and i turn off the wifi on our phones while home daily so we can have internet access. Macbook air - i tether to my phone. Video calls drop out in the middle if connected to wifi and have to use cellular network on all devices. After 2 weeks cant return to best buy and the support from company is nonexistent. If you have xfinity as your internet provider DO NOT BUY.

This is one of the worst routers I’ve ever owned. I only bought it to replace my 10 year old router and I wish I hadn’t. The old router was much more reliable than this junk. I have to restart the G34 every morning out of fear that the connection will drop in the middle of important work, and it still drops anyway! Save your money and get something else.

This constantly drops out and has to be rebooted. If you search this model, you will see that many people have the same problem. This should be removed from the market as it clearly has design flaw. Dont buy.
