When we increased our internet speed at Xfinity, I chose to buy my own modem/wifi and this Arris G36 is working very well. Easy to install and instructions easy to follow.

This is the worst modem + router I ever bought in my life. I bought this because of recommendation from my ISP website.
At first I was thinking issue is with my ISP, after troubleshooting with them several times and even working their field technician, I finally found out the WiFi from this product is very unstable. By the time solution was found, I'm not eligible to return this 200+ dollar garbage product. Now I'm stuck with it.
Solution: I ended up have to turn off the WiFi capability of this modem and combine this modem with another router to make it stable.
Arris app also the worst app for any modem/router app. I used TP-Link and Asus before, and they update connected device properly while Arris app, well you need to wait for 10 minutes or more before you can see connected device is updated.
When you setup this modem using Arris app, you need to be careful and not to enter wrong information. There is no back button after it complain an incorrect value in the next page. I have to uninstall app and start over just because of this.
I ended up deleting Arris app and never use it and using the web UI instead.

I originally bought this as it looked like it was the fastest modem router that Xfinity recommends besides their own brand which you have to rent, and I prefer owning my own Router Modem. Let me say I spent about 6 hours on the phone and online with Xfinity trying to get this connected and they would not connect to it after trying a few things and also sending out a ping trying to reach it, but nothing connected. It was so frustrating, and their instructions were also confusing as well and was only a little card with not much on them to help you, there online help desk is available is only open Monday thru Saturday and closed I believe by 3 pm.
Best Buy was very kind and let me return it and I upgraded to a Netgear ax2700 which I will say is so much better probably $50 more but connected within less then 5 minutes without having to talk to Xfinity just going to their page and entering a few numbers and it connected. Plus, Netgear has a 24hour helpline as well.
I wish I could of given this a better review but after trying to connect to Xfinity for 2 days I could not take it anymore. Arris Stand-alone modems work great with Xfinity as I had that before, but I had to upgrade to get a better speed and connection and sadly their Modem Routers are not good with Xfinity service.

On June 3rd purchased and installed an Arris G36 gateway/modem. On July 25th my cable company informed me that I should replace my gateway/modem as it is sending feedback signals causing issues on their network and they also installed a filter to block the signals. Called Arris for a warranty replacement and after a review of the WAN information my calm was rejected. They calmed the cable company was the issue, not the product.
This product Arris G36 Gateway may leave having to purchase another gateway/modem to replace the unit as Arris doesn’t support the warranty of the unit.

Do not purchase this unit. I bought one on 3/29/24 and it activated easily and worked great... for 18 days, and then it stopped working and I have not been able to get it back on line despite lengthy calls with both Arris and Xfinity. Arris blamed Xfinity and Xfinity blamed Arris. I am inclined to believe the Xfinity rep who said that they have had a number of customers with the same problem with G36 and G34 modems that just stopped working. He thought it might be due to firmware updates pushed out by Arris that are not compatible with Xfinity's system. Since I was beyond Best Buy's 15 day return window when these problems started Best Buy would not take the unit back. I am now trying to get a refund from Arris but they have not been receptive so far. Needless to say, if I have to go out and buy another modem I will definitely not buy an Arris product.

Great router/modem, this one replaced my older Surfboard and speed became amazing. Loading new software was much better less chance of having to retry the load.

I bought this modem not realizing it’s also a router. The Wi-Fi 6 is what sold me to utilize the fire stick 4K max with Wi-Fi 6. This unit has plenty of coverage for my place. I like arris modems they are good quality.

Feels good to be free of the Xfinity router. The Arris performance is great and double what we were getting. I think this will take us far into the future of technology and save us about $50 a month. It will be payed off in under 5 months.

I e had this modem/Wifi for over a year and a half. It just started intermittent connectivity which is the reason I replaced my old one. Starting to regret not paying for Xfinity’s modem

I have been the biggest fan of Arris products (previously Motorola) if you know the history of Motorola you’d know their technology has been extremely reliable, affordable and durable for connectivity. Every arris product I’ve used just works extremely well. I got 3 ps5’s gaming all at once while other tvs & devices are streaming/social media without a hiccup. Never a trouble, if anything my internet company will fail before the hardware does. 100% worth purchasing.

I got this to replace a 5 year old modem/router that was not compatible with my high speed internet. I like this a lot. No problems in the last 3 weeks, since set-up.

Easy set up, I would say pro. It did not take me long to get it all up and running. The quality is great, the sum the signal is by far the best i've ever had.
