I purchased the Arris G36 on February 2, 2023. After about 3 weeks it started having problems. To get back to an operational state, I unplug the G36, wait about 20 seconds, and plug the G36 back in. A typical failure scenario is the WiFi stops working about 24 hours after getting back to an operational state and the modem goes offline after 2 or 3 days.

Bought this unit to upgrade my gigabit service through Xfinity. Unit was easy to is install and Xfinity gave me instructions to connect to my gigabit service. If you understand tech it was easy to connect.

Everyone says Arris is great at modems, but this combo unit dissapoints. Had connection issues while setting it up. Everytime the modem rrsets, my phone would lose connection. Then after 6 months of use all my wifi devices kept dissconnecting. So I replaced it with a modem and my ping times went down. This performed worse comparitivly for months. Arris should pull this unit from the shelves, it seems of poor quality

Try 2 of them and is not comparable with Astound in Allentown PA. Contacted technical support but, after trying the 2nd unit it doesn't connect to the internet..

I have 4 tvs connected and 2 game consoles hard wired and another 4 cellphones connected through wifi. My download speed is about 700mb. Definitely recommend for a home with multiple devices

Instead of renting a box from comcast. I bought this. Easy to set up but does require me to call comcast to put the number into their system to add it. In order for it to work.

Did not help my speed issues with Spectrum. Wifi speeds were so terrible I had to return. Called Spectrum they came out to test with orginal modem and speeds were fine on hardwire.
Got Netgear Nighthawk.

From day 1 this router did not work and for a while I thought it was my internet provider that had the issues. I was not able to make calls on wifi, the vpn from work always dropped, my Sonos system never stayed connected, my security cameras would go offline 3-4 times as day etc. The spotty service caused me to chat with my internet providers’ customer service almost daily because I would only get like 20mps and I pay for 1200mps with my internet provider. The last straw for me was being told by my provider that there was a leak in my internet and it could be the router or the cable wires were not set up correctly. Well after losing two full days of work and not being able to connect to the internet wirelessly or through a wired connection I went and got a new router! After connecting my new router I was shocked to see that my internet does work and it’s actually fast. I switched to a Netgear router and have not lost connection in 3 days which would have been #200 with this router! If you have having issues just cut your losses and get a new device from a different brand because it won’t get better.
