Great modem. Take up very little space. Was able to remove the monthly charge from my cable bill for renting theirs. The modem from our cable company was much large and ugly. This handles higher speeds and works great.

Excellent modem. Easy to set up. Speed is
really good. I've used this brand for over 10 years,
and they are rock solid. I've had no issues with them.
Just remember to call your local cable
company when setting up this modem.
They will ask for a couple of numbers off
of the unit.

Plugged in and worked great. Just one tip, if you are replacing a comcast unit you can't get this set up through their app, you have to log into your account on a laptop or something similar. Once you know that, setup is a breeze, speeds are the max I'm paying for and it is a lot smaller than the beast Comcast wants to charge a bundle for me to rent. Also if you are renting, chances are you are paying extra electricity for them to send you a massive unit that is actually creating an xfinity hotspot for all your neighbors.
This is a great unit to quit a few of Comcast's games.

Bottom line...this modem has very fast capabilities (that I am unable to utilize at the moment) is small and does it's job at a much lower price point than the competitors. What more could you ask for?
I thought our old modem had died so I frantically went shopping for a new one. This ARRIS was at a price point lower than all the other brands, in store, had a lot of great reviews and was available with up to 10gbs in speed (something the other brands in the store didn't offer).
While I have nowhere near the capability of getting or paying for 10gbs, I figured I'd future proof my modem.
While I determined the old modem was fine and my ISP was having issues they weren't letting me know about, I decided to keep this modem. It takes up a very small footprint and I find the colors of and steady lights much more pleasing than the flashing ones in the old modem. I know this is superficial, but sometimes it's the small things that count when you aren't a networking savvy techie, such as myself.

Upgraded my Internet plan to allow for faster speeds and more data. Turns out the existing modem I owned would not support the faster download speeds, so made the investment in this modem. VERY easy to install and set up and has worked flawlessly since installation. Highly recommend

Bought this Arris modem and Netgear AC1750 to replace a rented all in one comcast box. We pay for 200 mbps burst from comcast. Blue LED stays lit indicating modem is running in DOCSIS 3.1 mode. Very happy with speed/performance of this unit, and its user friendly to configure.

I wanted to separate my modem from router and this Arris modem is giving me internet speeds faster than I'm supposed to get. It takes advantage of the Docsis 3.1 and with the 32X8 I'm really seeing a lot of connectivity with devices that I used to have perpetual problems with. A great Modem and would recommend ...

Overall very easy setup (pretty much plug and play). Ultimately went with this over the NetGear CM1000 because it was able to be price matched down to $150.
The reason I bought a new modem was because I was maxing out at 150mbps over Ethernet (pay for speeds up to 650mbps) after upgrading my router to a NetGear Nighthawk. After trying to troubleshoot a few other things I ended up with my modem (Motorola Surfboard) being the last component. My first Speedtest after installing the new modem came in at 500mbps during prime time so that was definitely the issue. I’ve had no issues with the Arris since installing it.
One thing that is a little deceiving (at least to me since I’m not super into computer networking) is that it has 2 ports in the back which I thought could be both be used (one for my router and other as a direct connection for my desktop into the modem) but this wasn’t working for me. After doing a little research, I found out since it’s just a modem only one port will work (giving 1 IP Address). The second port will only allow faster connection to the same connected device (from what I read). Had this been made a little more clear by the manufacturer on their website, I would have given 5/5 stars. Still not a bad item though.

Easy install. Windstream hook up was a little time consuming; but that is on Windstream. Performance is excellent. NO buffering; fast downloads and uploads.

Had the Surfboard SB6141 I believe that this one replaced. Nothing was wrong with it, I just upgraded my router and decided it was time to replace the modem as well since the other model didn't support the speeds I was paying for. Install was as straight forward as could be. Provisioning it through WOW did take a few tries of them pushing the signal through. After about 10 minutes online with the chat bot everything was up and running. Speeds increased as well as stability.

I recently did my annual, tedious ritual of renewing my Xfinity internet service. I settled on 600 Mbps service, nearly twice as fast as my old plan at the same price as my old one. To take full advantage of the increased speed, I replaced my old Arris modem with this modem with more download channels. After activation, I got wireless download speeds close enough to 600 Mbps, whereas my old one maxed out at 400 Mbps. I'm happy with this new modem and it has performed flawlessly.
BTW, I used Xfinity's IOS app to activate the new modem. The process went way better than expected. The only hard part was entering the new modem's MAC address, because I can't type accurately.

Awesome cable modem that eliminates the monthly rental charges that cable companies live for. Capable of a download speeds up to 986MB. Has plenty of status lights on front to tell you what is happening at the moment. Can log into the unit to determine packet loss, errors and channel status.
This is a simple modem that does its job well. If you are paying Comcast, WOW!, Xfinity, or another company a monthly fee then this is the unit for you. Simple to setup. Just screw the coax into the coax connector, plug in the LAN cable for your router, and plug in the power cord. Then call your cable company and tell them you bought your own modem. They will ask you for the MAC id number on the bottom of the modem and then they will authorize it to work with their network. That's it and you are up and running.
PROS:
- Nice price
- Super easy to setup
- Saves you on monthly rental fees from your cable company
- Can support download speeds up to 986MB
- DOCSIS 3.1

Love the size, also very easy to set up. Have mine connected with an RBR40 Orbi Netgear Mesh Router system with two extra satellite extenders, to cover 2900 square feet home, and all is working much faster than Comcast's modem. All is great this far.

I have Comcast internet service, 150 mb/s. My older cable modem would only get around 100 mb/s. That worked fine when I had 50 mb/s service. When I upgraded to 150 and couldn't get the full speed, I suspected the older modem wasn't capable of the higher speed, even though the manufacture's specs said it would do 384 mb/s. I upgraded to this modem and now get the full speed that I am paying for. As a bonus it is much smaller than my older modem so takes up less desktop space.
This model was listed on Comcast's website as a supported model.
Note that if you have phone service with Comcast, this modem does not support telephony, so you would not be able to use it for phone. My phone services is with Oooma, so it is fine for me.
