Instead of paying for Comcast Cable Modem. Use this instead. This is Comcast approved. No Cable Modem charge. My last version SB6190 lasted 9 years. Just plug up, and call comcast tech support to provided IMEI number found on device. And your good to go. Then just return comcast cable modem. The rental will come off your bill.

I take my network capabilities and quality seriously. I have an Erro mesh network of 4 nodes with 30+ devices constantly connected to my network including 5 Arlo cams (1 4K) XBOX One S, Vivint security, Nest thermostat, several smart lights, phones, computers, etc. all simultaneously connected and constantly being used. I stream most of my content; Youtube, Netflix and do online gaming. My ISP is through COX and I pay for a 100 mbps download and 10 mbps upload and I measure about 350 mbps download and 30 mbps upload. I had an ARRIS DOCSIS 3.0 before and had to upgrade to this because the 3.0 version could not handle to bandwidth that I currently use. This 3.1 device is a necessary link in that chain to make it happen. But you do need to have a need of 300+ mbps download, need a mesh or high-end router and need the bandwidth for multiple devices; all are just as necessary in conjunction with this device. If you plan on expanding your online devices over the next few years the amount you WILL pay your ISP for renting a modem will pay for this device, and this device should last a good 5 years before the next upgrade.

Bought this to replace a 10 yr old cable modem/router. We had access to 500MB/s for a few years, but that old modem/router that I was "renting" couldn't do it. Looked at compatible modems on the Cox page and and the list on BestBuy and chose this modem for price and capability.
I went to the Cox page to activate the modem, but it failed. It turned out that because I had a "rented" modem, I couldn't activate the modem without contacting Cox via phone. I made that call and the unit was up and running within 10 minutes, and I got the rental charge taken off my Cox bill.

Pretty great modem for the price. I had an old Spectrum modem and I had issues with the network dropping constantly. Haven't had any issues since I purchased this one.

I installed this modem as a User Supplied modem instead of paying rent on the Mediacom supplied unit. This unit is recommended and supported by Mediacom for 200 Mb and up to 1Gb. Plus and Play for the most part and exceeded the 200 Mb during testing. It has run for a month now with no dropped service.

This is my second Arris SURFboard cable modem and I love it. It has been a rock solid performer since it was installed. Very easy to set up with my ISP. My Internet speed tests are spot on with the speeds that my ISP is supposed to provide.

So I received notice that my old Cable Modem was losing its support, and not wanting to pay a monthly fee I purchased this ARRIS - SURFboard Cable Modem. A very nice man, located in India, helped me set it up seamlessly and it has worked extremely well ever since.

It took a bit of time to get setup. The setup procedure that came with modem did not work for my provider. Once I contacted my provider and get setup. the modem work fine. I was finally able to get the speed I was paying for.

My modem is almost 2 years and old with a flawless track record. The unit is sturdy and well built. It is super easy to set up and very reliable. My internet has never been so fast and stable plus the DOCSIS 3.1 is a major bonus. I will be able to keep this unit well into the future.

Very nice modem and small product to reduce the space it takes up. For the price point, definitely would recommend compared to paying my service providers $15/mo for theirs. I feel comfortable to trust the ARRIS to continue providing great speeds and ease of distribution. Great price, great value.

Purchased after experiencing slow internet and constant drops in service with old modem. Now getting max speeds paid for with current internet plan. Modem does not have built in WiFi so you will need a separate router, but doing so will provide better internet speeds and connection than a combined system. Set up is easy to complete with the instructions provided.

This arris modem is perfect it has the right amount of speed given to my router. My upload speed and download speed is much faster. Setting it up was ez and one phone call to Comcast to have them transferred over the new modem into the system. Can't go wrong with this little bad boy is doc 3.1 and its a 10+gigabit modem.

I decided to replace my cable modem at the same time I replaced an outdated router. This modem gave me the latest DOCSIS 3.1 technology and provides an opportunity to subscribe to higher cable speeds if I want. Setup was easy. Speeds are good and modem is reliable. I recommend it.

Needed to do an upgrade on my modem. Went from a docsis 3.0 to 3.1. Internet connectivity seems to improved. The new SB8200 is a good purchase. Price was reasonable and performs fine.
