Expensive Space Heater

G16 had a large display but the fans sounded like a jet ready for takeoff. But hey at least you have an expensive space heater to burn your laptops . I would try the Legion I5 for this price point. Temp reached over 100 C my first use

We do understand your concern about thermal issues. It is normal for laptop, with the same hardware configuration and regardless of the manufacturer, to generate more heat than normal while under heavy load especially during gaming, WINDOWS Update and antivirus scan. When system resource utilization is high, this will generate more heat than normal and tends to trigger the fan to spin at full throttle. Please ensure the air ventilations are free from obstructions in order to have an efficient air flow for better heat dissipation. While gaming, please ensure no resource hungry applications, processes and services are running in the background, this will definitely spike the temperature. The heat or temperature does decreases or normalizes once system resource utilization goes down. Additionally, to ensure Advance Configuration Power Interface is at its optimum, always keep Windows, drivers, BIOS, games and applications up to date. Updates for this laptop are available for download at:  https://rog.asus.com/us/laptops/rog-zephyrus/rog-zephyrus-g16-2023-series/helpdesk_download/ . Furthermore, ensure you are running the most current Armoury Crate Utility Software version posted at:  https://www.asus.com/supportonly/armoury%20crate/helpdesk_download/ .

Look for something else!

Fresh out of the box, the internal SSD port did not work. 8 months later and I wish that was the only issue. Screen occasionally fails and the only way to remedy is with a complete restart. I am disappointed in the quality given the price I paid.

Screen is horrible. Great ventilation to keep things cool, but this laptop was stuttery out of the box. To me, this is not mid range price to performance. Gray Zone Warfare only got 90 fps with this 4070 to put in perspective. Used double the wattage in every scenario than my lesser AMD 78735HS/7700s laptop.
