    Out of the box this thing was a beast. Able to run Modern games at around 90+ fps on ultra settings. About a month in one of the cooling fans started to fail causing the other fan to work harder to keep the pc cool and made the laptop really loud. In order to be able to play with no problems I had to change my fan profile to full speed. I would have gave the laptop 5 stars but due to the problems I had to change it to 3 because its a toss up if you get a good one it’s really good but it’s a chance things could go wrong.

    This laptop has the goods on paper to be a solid choice for gaming while still being quite portable. It definitely fit the bill, but I had to return it for two significant issues. The first is Asus' control software, Armoury Crate. It's really terrible, though most of its functionality can be replaced by a much lighter weight third-party application called G-Helper. The bigger problem was the HDMI port. Despite trying multiple cables and compatible displays, I could only get the laptop to output at HDMI 2.0 resolutions and refresh rates, which are 4K/60 Hz or 1440p/144 Hz. Adaptive refresh rate, aka G-Sync, also didn't work properly. Maybe it was just my unit, but this was a deal breaker.

    Needed a faster CPU

    I returned this gaming laptop for one reason. The 13th gen Intel i7 CPU that comes with it, is too slow for the RTX 4070 GPU in the system. In most newer AAA titles, the CPU was bottlenecking, not allowing the GPU to be utilized all the way. You can however, put another RAM stick in the laptop since it has one more DIMM slot. The RAM that comes with the laptop is soldered unfortunately. If it wasn't for the CPU, I would of recommended it.

    I have loved ASUS for quite a while. I bought this one, because my old ASUS was taking forever with emails, internet related items, and more. I thought the computing power on this computer would make everything faster. This computer is not as good as my last ASUS. Beyond that, it is slow, has the same issues the old ASUS had. All I use this for is Work, Excel, Adobe, Outlook and Zoom.

    Fans sound like an airplane and they do not cool at all. Keyboard is bad and very sticky keys.

    Stylish but with ASUS software (armory crate, MYASUS) the RAM usage is 40%. So with 16gb of DDR4 and a “slow and low” SSD it is a bad deal at full price. I got it on sale and and upgraded RAM and storage but with total price there are much better configurations with the NIVIDIA 5 series coming and driving a sell off.

Armoury Crate and My ASUS applications generally uses a relatively small amount of system resources when idle. A noticeable usage typically occurs when actively adusting settings like fan curves, overclocking, or system performance seetings while gaming. The exact amount depends on your system configurations, applications, processes and services you are using. The preinstalled 16GB RAM is adequate without compromising system performance. However, if you are multi-tasking and running resource-intensive applications simultaneously, you can add another 32GB RAM module on the availabe slot.     Cannot handle adobe premiere pro very good. Id personally prefer a different model for g16. Definitely won’t get this one

    1. 1080P and DDR4 3200 RAM is not a reasonable design for the 2024 ROG. 2. There is a dent in the A face but I did not notice that until 1 month later so that I cannot return it.
