Bought this after our Netgear router bricked itself in the middle of a firmware update. Spent some time doing some research and this checked all boxes with out breaking the bank. Wifi 6 dual band. we do a lot of streaming and gaming and there is not lag ever from this anywhere in our house. Easier to set up and maintain than any other router i have ever had.

Amazing router. I like being able to monitor and makes changes very easily through the app. Immediately saw the change in my internet speed. I also like the option of the game mode for my Xbox. The look is really cool and the RGB looks great in my living room

Awesome coverage. Downside: You can't stop the blue light from pulsing. This is in one of our bedrooms, so we have put it on a timer. Now it shuts off at 11PM, back on at 7AM. Which is also a safety thing, no one can break in to our WiFi pc's while we are sleeping. B

I previously had an Asus gaming router that unfortunately Asus no longer supported with firmware updates and was not performing well. i really like the speed/ performance and upgraded security of the Asus RT- 82U. Hopefully Asus will extend the support, such as secure firmware updates and security services updates.

This is an excellent router, and I would recommend it to anyone looking based on my experience with it. I'll start out with the couple minor issues I've seen. It doesn't support wall mounting as is, however I was able to find a 3d printed bracket to mount it. The overall range is decent, but not great. The range issue leads into one of the best features about this router: It is a full featured router with both wi-fi and ethernet connectivity, and it supports a mesh network out of the box. I picked up a single mesh extender, and that fixed my range issue with about 5 minutes of setup. Another great feature is this can replace the "required" router from many ISPs without much trouble. I use CenturyLink fiber, and the setup page has an option to turn on PPPoE and set that to CenturyLink, and it automatically set the settings, aside from username and password. Other than that, I've found this router to have great performance. Wi-fi performance is almost indistinguishable from gigabit ethernet. I have a lot of devices connected with no issues. There is an app that can be used instead of the web interface, and that works well for most things.

Very fast good range and reliable so far, would recommend!

I purchased this about a month ago and was dreading the install but it was fairly painless and I was able to reuse my SSID and password so that all devices continued to work without problems. the router is fast and reliable--I have had no problems so far.

I actually bought 2 ASUS routers of this model. I had originally bought this router, but it got hit by a power surge. It was so good that I decided to make a mesh system with two identicals. Easy setup ever. Works great! Would recommend it to anyone.
