Connected really easy and is user friendly. Rooks smoothly on hard surface or carpet. They were right...This was the droid I was looking for!!!!

I was pretty impressed. It did not take too long to get used to controlling the droid. You can even slow down the speed which was really helpful in learning to control it. The sounds and the twitchy movement were very realistic to the droids in the movies. I use this on my hardwood floors and good to play with pets, although pet hair can get caught in the underside of the head, but you can easily clean it out. And it does not seem to affect the movement of the droid much. I think this is a great gift for yourself or someone else.

Transcends a robot toy. Engaging and fun to play with. "Eyes" face the direction it moves towards. So disarming one easily anthromophirizes BB-8. Bystanders are taken by its ease of operation. Bring it with me on trips. Scoots along quite well and can hop onto thinner rugs. Recommend taking a moment and blowing off excess carpet fiber and lint the rollers in the head track after each use. Not for smaller kids to operate. Really grows on you. More than I ever thought, indeed BB-8 Is the Droid I Didn't Know I Was Looking For!

Going into buying this, I was just getting over a birthday of mine & wanted to buy something for me. So I started strolling through this website and came across this BB-8 Droid by Sphero. Bought it on an impulse. I love this little droid, but there really isn't much to it. You play with it, & it rolls around. The sounds it makes comes through the app on your phone; and the battery only lasts for about an hour, then you have to charge it for three hours to have a complete charge. Sphero promises that the droid will do more as time goes on. Realistically the droid is just a great paperweight until you have a case of Writer's Block and want to get some juices flowing...or maybe you just don't know if you want to play a game or watch a movie, so you turn BB-8 on and loose a good 15-30 minutes. It's a fun thing to lose time to, but other than that; there's not much to it. It has amazing technology in it, but until it can roam around my house freely or they make an extra headpiece for it that has a camera built in, this is just a good looking paperweight that you can play with. I'd recommend this as a buy, but only if you have the money to spend and aren't hurting. If not, wait for it to reach around $80 or so.

I purchased this little guy when Best Buy had a sale ($120) the day The Force Awakens came out to Blu-ray/DVD. I have been eyeing it for some time, and have been impressed with the quality of other Sphero products I have seen. It pretty much does what is advertised. Well constructed, and the app for controls is easy to use. Just be mindful of what surface it is on, due to the fact he was super fast on my hardwood floors, and I had to turn his sensitivity down. The animals love him as he rolls around the house, just be sure to check the small wheels under his head after you are done, since it can collect human or pet hair around the them, and can be a little tedious to clean out, regardless of how clean your floors are kept. I assume the rolling plastic material, combined with the magnet for the head to stay on, builds a very slight static charge since I have to also while his main body down due to it as well. The additions of him reacting to The Force Awakens was a nice touch as well. He went insane with excitement when he saw his buddy Po Dameron and we got a kick out of it. Charming little product, and I look forward to what other additions they plan to do with the software, as well as hoping they make a larger model down the road.

so i got caught up in the star wars hype when this little droid got released. i took the plunge and picked one up on bestbuy.com. it was easy to use, and pretty much the app does all the work. it connects seamlessly, and i like the fact that i can drive it, record holographic videos and has voice commands. a lot of features packed into a little droid. it is hard to handle in the beginning, and it definitely works better on hard surfaces. my house is all carpet, so i can really only drive bb8 around in my kitchen. like any new novelty, it lasts for only so long. im sure when im bored, i'll take him back out, and i like that he has a sort of a personality, even though its pretty much myself making him do certain things. nonetheless, i've enjoyed bb8 and i have no regrets.

As a fan I absolutely love this! It's more of a collector's piece than for play, but it can function as both. :) It has it's own little personality and works exactly like the BB-8 from the movie. It's fun to play with if you have pets, especially cats. Overall, do I think it's worth $150? Probably not to most, but to a Star Wars fan, it's a pretty neat little toy!

This little droid is really adorable! Star Wars fans - this is a must as a special piece for your collection. While this droid is fun to play with (for nearly any age), the price is a little steep for the small amount of things it can do which is why I gave it four stars instead of five. Hopefully, Sphero can continue to build on this technology as it is really neat, but this is a great introduction.

Very cool design, easy to use, an awesome gift. Not hard to play with or setup. Need to be careful of stairs.

I got this BB-8 just before the release of TFA because of pure excitement. Without spoiling anything, I can say that BB-8 was the star of the show and I have no regrets buying him. All his modes (patrol, manual control, and emotes) are great! The only reason I didn't give a 5-star is because for what he is, $150 is just plain too much.

I got this little droid for my girlfriend for Christmas. It's easy to set up and configure if you know how to use a smartphone. A little disappointed by the one hour of use from a charge, but all in all, a great toy for young and old jedi alike!

my9 y/o daughter was excited to get the bb8..she opened it and immediately started to play with it..she had a lot of fun with it and is very easy to use. the only bad thing is the battery life

This is going to be THE hottest item for the holiday's!!! It is very fun and very easy to use. BB-8 is going to be a breakout star of the new films and you get to drive him around!

My kids and I love this! Perfect Christmas present for the whole family. The app has a lot of fun ways to play with BB-8 and it was a huge hit on Christmas morning.

The item does what it says. It takes a bit to get used to when you first start. It is very cool how the robot responds to voice and commands. It would be a better if he spoke in English and not just robot gibberish. Easy to set up on a smart phone.

Santa gave this toy to my 10 yr old and he was thrilled. It's perfect for that age and beyond. It is not too complicated or hard to figure out. Right out of the box it is ready to roll! Even adults love this thing. The one watch out is that it takes 2-3hrs to charge, so you won't be able to play w this immediately. Santa realized that in advance and was sure to charge it, because when we opened it up, it was fully charged. It seems pretty durable too because of the simple engineering. I've got a 2 yr old that loves to hunt it down and test its limits.

This little guy it a little tricky to control at first but once you get the hang of it he is a blast. It's actually amazing how well it works.

Opened , charged up, walked through setup instructs. No issues, wish it was a little bigger, but works great.
