Lot's of fun BB-8 Remote control droid
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Cute little BB-8 remote controlled droid. Works with an app on a smartphone. I still have not tried the watch with BB-8 feature that let's the droid interact while the film is played. The cats love it. It is fun to play with, but how long can you really play with a remote controlled ball? Be aware that it picks up dust and random hairs on the floor so it gets dirty quickly and the hairs and dust get caught in the wheel tracks on the head piece. It is a bit difficult to control, and only works on smooth flat floors. It is very fragile, the wires on the head can easily get bent or broken off. I knew what it was before I bought it, and I am still happy with the purchase. Not for kids unless they are careful, and what kids are careful? It is very expensive for what it is, and I was hoping for more features. Again, still love it, and I do not regret buying it.

Great little toy , fantastic battery life
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a fun little Droid. The battery life has been great. Takes a nice bang into the wall well. 2 complaints though. At this price point I think it should work a bit better on carpet. Also it tends to get disoriented when turning multiple directions on a hard surface at speed. Let's not forget list price of this novelty toy is set at 149.99$. Also 2 of the phones I've used with this app/Droid get very hot after 10 minutes of use. But don't let this turn you away it's a fantastic way to pass time!

The must have Xmas toy
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It comes with rechargeable batteries(last 60 minutes) that recharge on the wireless charging station. You can recorder video message, connect thru Bluetooth,Voice interaction, must be on ios 8(idk for andriod). There are future firmware updates that will give it more features, but u have to remember that there is hardware limitations. May get stuck in carpet you'll have to wiggle it like in this video. If your playing on a hard/flat floor u should be fine. Here is a video https://youtu.be/b6oXfzbUY70

Little droid, big price.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Going into buying this, I was just getting over a birthday of mine & wanted to buy something for me. So I started strolling through this website and came across this BB-8 Droid by Sphero. Bought it on an impulse. I love this little droid, but there really isn't much to it. You play with it, & it rolls around. The sounds it makes comes through the app on your phone; and the battery only lasts for about an hour, then you have to charge it for three hours to have a complete charge. Sphero promises that the droid will do more as time goes on. Realistically the droid is just a great paperweight until you have a case of Writer's Block and want to get some juices flowing...or maybe you just don't know if you want to play a game or watch a movie, so you turn BB-8 on and loose a good 15-30 minutes. It's a fun thing to lose time to, but other than that; there's not much to it. It has amazing technology in it, but until it can roam around my house freely or they make an extra headpiece for it that has a camera built in, this is just a good looking paperweight that you can play with. I'd recommend this as a buy, but only if you have the money to spend and aren't hurting. If not, wait for it to reach around $80 or so.

fun to play with
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Quick to get around. Head falls off. Bb-8 not always responds after 10 feet and app sometimes freezes or maybe just my phone, galaxy prevail. Would be better if BB-8 made noises and not from the phone and include camera inside eye to see where BB-8 is when roaming. Overall fun to play with and happy to have it. Also being a Star Wars collector. Would be cooool to see something like this for Star Trek also!!!

Awesome RC Robot
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This remote control robot is fun for any age. The interactive iPad app is very futuristic snd easy to learn. There are several modes of operation including a recon option in which the droid moves about the room on its own and another mode in which the user controls the droid's movements. The only thing I was disappointed by was the incredibly small size of the droid,

Pure Excitement
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My daughter wanted this for Christmas but didn't think she would get it. She loves it. I was hoping for more features than it comes with, but it satisfies my Star Wars fan in the house.

Really Cool
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As a fan I absolutely love this! It's more of a collector's piece than for play, but it can function as both. :) It has it's own little personality and works exactly like the BB-8 from the movie. It's fun to play with if you have pets, especially cats. Overall, do I think it's worth $150? Probably not to most, but to a Star Wars fan, it's a pretty neat little toy!

BB-8: Little Toy, Big Fun
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was super excited when this was first advertised, and not at all surprised when it sold out quickly. I managed to buy one Black Friday weekend, and love it. It is smaller than I expected, but that's not really a negative...until it gets stuck under the kitchen cabinets. It takes a little time to get used to the controls, but the speed and maneuverability is impressive. I've only used it on hardwood floors, so I don't know how it does on carpet. One Con - the head is very sensitive. One slight bump along a wall and it comes off. Other than that, very fun. I look forward to trying out all the features when I have time.

Fun Tech toy
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Fun little gadget. It was smaller than we thought it would be but more our fault than the Bb8's. We all know movie cameras make items look bigger than in real life. The holographic image is seen through your phone when it is put in front of the bb8. It can be hard to see if your trying to send a message to someone else and hold the phone to control it. Neat little toy. Not the toys we had during the first Gen star wars movies.

Cute beginning droid for Star Wars fans!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This little droid is really adorable! Star Wars fans - this is a must as a special piece for your collection. While this droid is fun to play with (for nearly any age), the price is a little steep for the small amount of things it can do which is why I gave it four stars instead of five. Hopefully, Sphero can continue to build on this technology as it is really neat, but this is a great introduction.

Good, but pricey
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this BB-8 just before the release of TFA because of pure excitement. Without spoiling anything, I can say that BB-8 was the star of the show and I have no regrets buying him. All his modes (patrol, manual control, and emotes) are great! The only reason I didn't give a 5-star is because for what he is, $150 is just plain too much.

Great, fun, mini droid
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After seeing some BB-8 reviews online, I knew that I wanted it. The price tag is a bit hefty but if you have any gift cards saved up, it's definitely worth the buy. I was surprised by how much BB-8 acted like a real droid with its own mind right when I first put him on the charger. The size is a bit small considering the price, but the detailing and material makes BB-8 look great nonetheless. Steering BB-8 is relatively simple once you get the hang of it and its always fun to play with!

GREAT Toy, but price is steep
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I Love the new Sphero BB8 Droid Toy. My only reservations are the price. It's very steep for what it is. Furthermore, this doesn't work well on carpet so keep that in mind when you purchase it. Otherwise, they did a GREAT job on this little guy. Glad with purchase.

neat toy especially for the office.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My husband loves it. He takes it to his office and lets it patrol. His coworkers are all jealous. We like the little moves it does especially when it's trying to figure out where it is. The only thing we wish it had was a return to me button to call him back.

It's pretty cool
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Smaller than I thought it would be and less refined, control wise. Not sure what they could do to improve it. It's a pretty simple device for the price, but it's also fun to play with for all ages!

A well made device that is worth the money
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I received BB-8 as a Christmas gift and couldn't be happier with it. For starters, it is well packaged. The toy was well secured and it's clear that time and effort was put into the details. The device is well made and has a decent weight to it. The USB charge is fairly quick and after downloading the app for free you're good to go. So the main question, how does the device operate with the app: Great! I haven't ran it through long durations of use yet but I have put it through the paces. It does take a short time to get accustomed to operating it but it is responsive to your commands and physical obstacles. It has become my cat's favorite toy/terror over the past month. It should be noted that even when not in use, it does make a great table decoration when BB-8 is nestled in it's stand. Overall, very pleased with the product.

Fun and cute for the star wars fan in all of us!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. While the price tag is hefty, so was my love for BB-8, and the heart won out in the end. Smaller than expected but endlessly fun, my only complaint was that if my phone's audio is other occupied then you cant hear his adorable voice

Very Cool for children 12 and Under.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought as a Christmas present for my 16 year old. Well he thought it was cool, he quickly became bored with it. It does not have that many features. My two 10 year olds love it however and will play with it until the battery dies.

Great little droid for an 8 year old to enjoy
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I would say that this is a very nice droid. It cruises around and does it's thing, it is good on the battery life. The antenna has already broken and cannot be fixed, but the little one stayed intact. It isn't necessary to keep his head on, but BB8 without a head is not as fun. It does pick up any dirt/dust that is on the floor, carpet vinyl or hardwood, so you need to maintain it by cleaning gently with a tissue. The only things I could say would make it better, are having him project the hologram himself, not through the app, and having him talk himself, not through the app. The app is good for letting him go on search mode, and it tells you what he thinks things are. Driving is a bit of a challenge. Other than that it was worth the money.
