Is this junk from 2003? So throughput speeds are dog poo as well as using it for recharging something like a phone. 1 hour charging difference between the laptop type C and the hubs output. I use my phone for Dex to the rv tv via a Belkin type C and hdmi hub. Allows use of Samsung phone and no internet service needed. This hub didn't have enough power to keep phone charged, but laptop output did. Expensive and worthless.

Just got off the phone with Belkin support. I've been trying to use this hub to connect an external SSD that is 3.2 Gen 2 to my Macbook Pro. It's an Oyen Digital 8TB. The support staff just informed me that this hub only works with devices plugged DIRECTLY into the ports - NO CABLES. What? You can't use SSDs, HDDs, Displays, Microphones, etc. Only flash drives? However, my iPhone works with a cable. I asked if Belkin had any other products that work as a hub with cables, and she said no. I have an older Belkin USB-A hub and it works great with all accessories. It's hard for me to understand how this newer product has less features than it's ancestor.

However, I purchased this hub to help connect some self-powered hard drives and unpowered 4k streaming camera. When connected directly to my MacBook Pro there wasn't a problem, but when using the hub there was flickering, etc. I tried to tweak the camera output but to no avail. I returned this item
