    Worth It If You Actually Buy Tech Often

    My Best Buy Total is genuinely useful if you actually buy tech regularly. The extended warranty and protection plans are the real value here. I have already saved money on repairs and replacements that would have cost more than the membership itself. Geek Squad support is convenient and removes a lot of friction when something goes wrong. That said, this membership is not magic. If you rarely buy electronics or only shop once a year, it is probably not worth it. Some benefits feel redundant and Best Buy could be clearer about what is truly included versus what sounds better on paper.

    This Plan is the Smartest Thing You Can Purchase

    This is the Best Electronics Deal in the US. You get a 2-year accident warranty on everything. Listen to me, every year you will debate renewing but just do it. I buy all my electronics at Best Buy and everything has a two year warranty. The plan pays for itself as stuff breaks. My sons headphones just broke, walked in to Best Buy and walked out with a new pair 10 minutes later. Xbox controllers are $25 but thats fair. They break in 5 months and Best Buy basically replaces them at their cost. My dyson vacuum is protected, all our earbuds. I can enjoy my stuff more when I don't worry about it breaking

    I have been a Total Tech member for years mainly for Geek Squad services. I am not a computer expert by any stretch and relie heavaly on Geek Squad Selinsgrove. Big shout out to Agent Carr and Morgana. I have seen many agents come and go but they keep my computers going. Only negative is I am 25 miles away one way and after dropping a unit off, the in a day or two its another 25 mies to pick it up. But that`s part of it. Another great thing about Total Tech is I think 90 day returns instead of 15. There are many other perks to being a TT member. I urge everyone to talk to a Best Buy sales staff person to get low down on Total Tech. Wouldn`t be without it!

    Get if for a big purchase. Keep it for a year or 2

    I originally signed up for the Best Buy Total membership mainly for the warranty coverage and the extended return policy. It’s a yearly membership, and you get one year of warranty when you first sign up, with a second year added if you renew—but the warranty does not extend beyond two years, even if you continue renewing after that. That limitation aside, I’ve genuinely enjoyed and made good use of the price protection feature. Being refunded the difference when items go on sale shortly after purchase has saved me money multiple times. Because of that, I’m comfortable paying for a second year. After that second year, though, I struggle to see much incentive to keep the membership unless additional long-term benefits are offered.

    I was greeted and helped professionally by one of your tech's and I was told that they tried to revive my old desktop computer and it wouldn't work. I told the tech that I knew the computer was old and originally wanted to give it to Best Buy for recycle purposes. Everything was taken off the old computer and put on my external drive. Thank you, Geek Squad for your excellent work!!!

    My Oura ring has helped me in managing my sleep apnea more accurately than the app from my CPAP. Tracking O2 sats and without keeping me from sleeping like the devices that my pulmonologist and my sleep doctor order for me. I easily get a week on a single charge, unlike the 36 hours on my Apple watch. This accurately forecast my stress which also helps me to manage my diabetes and my polycythemia.

    I’m a loyal member for over 20 years; I love the geek squad services for all my tech equipment; the tech services that remote to my laptop, install security apps; clean my laptop and offers and makes suggestions for my apps to correct glitches is awesome! The warranty’s are a great value for all merchandise that I purchase from BestBuy, freezers, washer and dryers, TVs and computers and all Apple products, ie., watches, laptops, iPads, iPhones; printers, cameras etc. I recommend to all my family and friends. I love the thought of security and warranty for my purchases!

    I purchased this because my step-dad is in need of computer help that im not always able to give him . The staff and service have been excellent and im very pleased with the fact that everyone i have dealt with is very noligable and have answered and question big or small that I or my step-dad have had . I would definitely recommend this to anyone that isnt the most technically sound in certain aspects of electronics and computers.

    I have had the extreme pleasure of purchasing my Best Buy total plan. It has come in handy to use the services to repair the laptop I bought for my mom during her last months of life. The staff was able to fix the issues expeditiously in order for me to get it back to her for her enjoyment. The one price paid per year is totally worth it when you look at the possibility of extreme costs for repairs without this service. I made a great decision to purchase and have used the service of other occasions, saving me a lot of money. I would definitely recommend it.

    I don't find geek squad is that great or helpful. I had a issue with a tv and geek squad was horrible with how to handle the issue and knowledge of how to handle the issue. I just want you the costumer that best buy takes your money for extra coverage but depending on the tv manufacturer warranty I payed and they didn't cover it or even helped on the issue I had to go back to the tv manufacturer they took care of it because the had to they gave a 2 year warranty on their tv and I wound up getting a refund because they don't carry or have a better quality tv. But to get the refund it took almost 2 months. So no tv for that amount of time I don't recommend getting the extended warranty that best buy offers in my opinion. Hope this helps.

    I just found out that this warranty covers ANY product I purchase through Best Buy - from my Mac Airbook to a new refrigerator or washer/dryer - all for the same monthly price. So this will definitely be worth it as I am moving to a new home soon and will need new appliances. The warranty lasts as long as I maintain membership and covers damages, software issues, etc. So much more than standard warranties seem to cover. Very glad to have asked more questions about this before canceling. (It also saved me an additional $50 from a later on price match guarantee!)

    I decided to purchase the My Best Buy Total™ membership because I was buying a $1,000 computer and wanted extra protection, and honestly, it has been a very good decision. From day one, the accidental damage protection gave me a lot of peace of mind when using my devices without worrying so much about something happening to them.     I was not thrilled to have to make this purchase initially. I went into GeekSquad after my PC tower would not turn on. The fans would start and then it immediately would turn off. When I brought it in, they basically told me that the membership would likely end up costing less than whatever repairs were determined to be needed. 180 felt steep. But after everything that turned out to be wrong with my old pc, and the work that i had them do with my new one, it was absolutely worth the price. It covered all of my diagnostic, repair charges, and data transfers and now Im covered for the entirety of this year for any other device that may have issues. While it doesnt cover the cost of parts, it does cover services and that turned out to be a much better deal! Staff were fantastic through and through.
