Customers are saying

Customers often highlight the Pet Hair Eraser® Upright Vacuum's ability to pick up pet hair and its powerful suction. They appreciate its ease of use and the variety of attachments that come with it. However, some customers find it to be heavy and not very maneuverable. There are also a few complaints about the swivel feature, the brush stopping on carpets, and the loud noise level.

The vacuum didn't have enough suction for what we were looking for, so we returned.

Let me start by saying that I really wanted to like this vacuum. I was very excited to get it after reading the reviews. Then I used. It was beyond horrible! I could not even suck up a cobweb with the hose or a penny using the roller. I returned it 2 days later. I still find it hard to believe just how bad is vacuum was. To not even be able to suck up a cobweb...I just can’t believe it. Don’t waste your money on this one. No stars or better yet negative stars would be a better rating!

    Great Suction on all surfaces

This heavy duty and seemingly well built vacuum works as well as advertised with pet hair, but it also sucks up just about anything else on the floor or in the carpet from food crumbs to small objects without hesitation. I like all of the attachments and have found a use for each one, especially the turboeraser tool. On carpet, the vacuum picks up the pile nicely and leaves a thicker rug or carpet with a good clean looking finish. The amount of dust, dirt, and dog hair pulled out of the carpet is staggering. The manual carpet thickness adjustment is a welcomed feature as previous vacuums I've had without this feature can be a bear to push through our thick living room rug. On hardwoods, the same powerful suction is on display and the dog hair flies into the vacuum. It also picks up most other small objects with no trouble, and I've only had to turn on the brush roller once or twice to get something to vaccum up on the hardwood. The two drawbacks are the weight and the lack of a hose extension. This is a very heavy vacuum, and if it weren't for the decent steering, it would be almost impossible to push around the room. Even then, steering this thing is more like driving a dump truck with no power steering than a sports car. Also, a hose extension would be nice that would allow the user to reach the floor from a standing position when using the hose. All said, this is a fantastic vacuum, if heavy, and does the job it's supposed to without clogging or losing suction.

Our cat and carpet are almost the same color making it hard to really see how much of his hair is around. The vacuum picked up a large amount of hair which we were not expecting. It was easy to use due to the way it swivels. The attachments made vacuuming the couch very easy especially the one with a roller of its own. The ability to turn off the roller when using on a floor was very nice. Our family absolutely love this vacuum.

For a long time now, I have wanted to get a bagless vacuum specifically for pets. I've had my previous vacuum, one that requires a bag, for over 8 years. I didn't quite trust bagless vacuums but after finding this Bissell that was for pets, I decided it was a good time to try it out. I own an indoor cat and an outdoor dog that's allowed to come in at night. I first tested out the vacuum in the room where the dog sleeps when he is indoors, which is actually just a closet. Visually, I couldn't tell that the dog was shedding inside. After using the vacuum, I was amazed at how much hair it had picked up after a few passes. I moved on to the living room, where the cat frequents. Again, I immediately noticed how much hair was being picked up as well as dirt. Compared to my old vacuum, this is a big jump in technology and as an indoor pet owner, it has converted me to trust bagless vacuums. The compartment is large enough that I don't have to dump it out too often if I do the occasional room. I'd like it a little larger, but it's not much to complain about for my needs. The additional tools for hard to reach areas make it a breeze to vacuum the stairs. The cord plug itself is just right for all my house connections and doesn't interfere much. Overall, I am glad to own another Bissell product, the first being a carpet washer. It's quickly becoming a trusted home brand amongst my family.

Found a replacement for my Dyson

Don't get me wrong, I liked my Dyson but somehow it disappeared from my home. I was hoping to find an alternative to spending Dyson $$$. Having pets and a wife with allergies, a few things I look for are hepa filtration, bagless (I hate the cost of bags), easy to maneuver and not two heavy. The bonus items are no bags of attachments I have to store and it has a few attachments. This vacuum does have all that. On-board storage for the attachments, a retracting hose from the handle hepa filtration and great maneuverability. I just had new carpet installed two months ago so it is not exactly filthy but even after vacuuming with my Shark vacuum this thing pulled up container after container of animal hair and dirt. One really nice feature is the rotating brush is configured so that long hair doesn't wrap around it; magical! Also when you empty the canister, I haven't had to reach inside it to grab stuff out. It all comes out when you hit the release. Great investment!!

Bissell is a company that has been around for a long time. I am surprised that they don't have better technology than this. We have tile floor down stairs and we have two dog's. The sucking power of this vacuum is very poor. We ended up donating it to good will. We replaced it with a dyson. We had a Bissell carpet cleaner that worked well but got rid of it when we had tile installed. I will no longer purchase a bissell product.

This is a premium vacuum targeted for those who need a powerful and versatile vacuum to clean messy situations involving pets or large active families. I would look at other vacuums if you have more simple and basic cleaning needs as it will be cheaper for you and the vacuum will be lighter, more simple. Pros: -Variety of Tools and Attachments -Handsfree Canister Cleaning -Bagless -Hypoallergenic with filter system -Long power cord -Washable filter -Unique lime green color -Swivel steering -Tangle free brush -Powerful suction that is adjustable -Easy to assemble -Built in Febreze air freshener Cons: -Heavier and more bulky compared to average vacuums -No headlight -No wet and dry usage -Manual suction change from floor to hose -Automatic cord retraction/rewind -can be noisy

Not happy with this vacuum at all. It does not get the pet hair up as well as my 10 year worn out vacuum. It does not come with a long attachment to use the hose with.

It works really good for loose pet hair but not the best for lab hair or hair that weaves into the fabric. The hair eraser tool doesn't work I can't get it to turn.

The Bissell "Pet Hair Eraser" vacuum is pretty amazing, and full of great features. It is a fully equipped vacuum that does a great job at picking up stuff that our old vacuum was missing. A feature that I found extremely helpful, and amazing, was that the handle detaches and turns into a compact vacuum to get into those small spaces. The suction power is just enough to pick up crumbs. The only problem with this was the way the hose is connected to the actual vacuum. It doesn't seem like a very tight/secure connection. I felt like it does lose some suction power due to this, but it still managed to pick up dirt. We have thick carpeting throughout most of our house, so this was perfect to really test this vacuum out. Although my wife had vacuumed our house earlier in the day, I gave the Bissell a try and found that our old vacuum(which is fairly new) missed a lost of small debris throughout our house. The brush roll is adjustable, so I tried it in various different ways. Since the carpet is fairly thick, I adjusted the roller to really get into it. It did a fantastic job at picking up dirt. Best of all, I checked to see if there was any hair rap in the roller, and there wasn't! Another nice feature from this Bissell vacuum is that it comes with an odor eliminating Febreze filter in it. It was a bit too strong, but it is a brand new filter and vacuum. The sent is pleasant enough to not cause discomfort. For folks who prefer regular non-scented filters, no need to worry, it comes equipped with that too. One feature that amazed me was the swivel steering. It is amazing how effortless it is to maneuver the vacuum around the house. The vacuum is not too bulky, so that also cuts down on the weight, but the swivel steering just feels amazing, and even allows you to get into the corners really well. As for the accessories that come with it, they really come in handy. It comes with an LED crevice tool that allows you to get into the corners of the house and couch. The light really comes in handy for poor lit places. The suction strength is enough to pick up small debris. Getting into those corners and edges has never been this easy. If you don't want to carry around the accessories all over the place, the accessory mount is removable. It does come with a single accessory mount, or a double. If there's a pet in your house, this is the vacuum for you. It's lightweight, easy to handle, and just does an incredible job cleaning up the house.
