Customers are saying
Customers often highlight the Pet Hair Eraser® Upright Vacuum's ability to pick up pet hair and its powerful suction. They appreciate its ease of use and the variety of attachments that come with it. However, some customers find it to be heavy and not very maneuverable. There are also a few complaints about the swivel feature, the brush stopping on carpets, and the loud noise level.

Very nice product, but too heavy
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a gorgeous vacuum cleaner - beautiful black/green. It is very sturdy, solidly built. It has on board attachments. Having a long hair cat, I was thrilled to get this vacuum. Cat hair is a funny thing in that you don't really know it's there, until you get a good vacuum and then you see how much was in your carpet/on your floor. This vacuum did a fine job of removing dust, dirt and cat hair from the carpet. There are a lot of very good things to be said about this vacuum, but unfortunately, due to the weight of the unit, I won't be able to use it. It is too heavy to push, turn, maneuver and carry. The unit was delivered in its box. It was packed very well. It took a bit of muscle to get it out of the box and finish the assembly needed, but I was able to get through it with a little assistance. There are 2 attachments - one is a motorized unit for removing pet hair from furniture and the other an edge cleaner with an LED light - what a fantastic idea! Get in those cracks and actually be able to see what you are vacuuming! You can change the holder on the vacuum that comes for holding only 1 attachment to the supplied holder that will hold 2 attachments. Not sure why they don't just put that one on to start with. It was a bit difficult to remove. There are 3 ways to use the attachments - the wand, the hose and the handle. I think that's overkill, but maybe the more options the better. There is no extension wand. I wouldn't be able to reach cob webs from the corners of the ceiling with this. The Febreze filter has a mighty potent smell to it when putting it into the filter slot - but when vacuuming, it leaves behind a pleasant scent. The collection bin is easy to remove and empty. The buttons to turn it on/off are placed in the perfect position. On other cleaners, I have had to search for that. There is also a button to stop the roller bar for bare floors. This is a nice touch. It comes with a nice long cord that winds around its pegs easily. No automatic retraction. Over all, this is a beautifully designed vacuum with lots of very nice features, but not perfect, and not the best choice for me. Due to the excessive weight of the unit, unfortunately, I am unable to carry or maneuver it and that makes it unusable for me. My partner (stronger & taller than myself) tried the vacuum as well, and also found the vacuum to be too heavy to use.

Wonderful vacuum - best I've used!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This vacuum is phenomenal. We just used it to vacuum our whole house (where the carpet appeared clean) - the amount of dirt, pet hair, etc... that was invisible that now is in our vacuum's dirt container is crazy! We've used a bagged Dirt Devil in the past, but from now on we will use this one - even the hand accessory works great - sucks up dirt quickly. My wife told me to add that it does have a slight whine when the roller is running, but that's about the only con we can think of. Aside from that, this vacuum is phenomenal - sucks up dirt and our cat's stray hair easily and is easy to maneuver around chairs, tables etc... Highly recommended!

Excellent Performance & Features
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Bissell Pet Hair Eraser upright vacuum is a great product. Everything from the features to the functionality have worked flawlessly. In our home, which has two dogs, the vacuum performed just as well on carpet as it did hard surfaces. Plus, the attachments made it simple to vacuum the stairways, and the right-angle crevices around the house. The little high-suction attachment with the LED light is also excellent for spotting and collecting debris in the low-lit areas. The vacuum may be a bit less maneuverable than some of the competitors, but the efficiency and cost make it well worth it.

Decent Vaccum for pet hair and easy to clean
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have two large short haired dogs and a cat. My girlfriend and I live together and she has very long hair. Pros of this Vaccum -The cyclone does work for the canister, so you don't have to reach in and remove the hair. -There has been limited amounts of my girlfriends long hair in the vaccum brush, a little bit in the small brush attachment but nothing major compared to other vaccums - The attachments it comes with are lined with a rubbery material which prevents from scrapes and marking the wall or mouldings when getting dust out of crevices - It does remove longer hair -It has multiple settings for how thick your carpet is and for bare floors, which is nice. Also a setting for turning the brush on or off. -The cord is long and the attachment wand is easy to get in and out -Will pick up heavy dirt (we use extra heavy kitty litter for low tracking) it did a very good job on picking it up. -The air comes out of the top insead of the front or sides, so it doesn't blow dirt and fur everywhere. Cons -it seems to pick up less dust than my other vaccum, still to be determined I see a lot of it in the sides of the vaccume where the air is getting sucked in but not necessarily in the canister. -The vaccum itself is a bit heavy which makes it hard to bring up and down stairs. -large, not oversized but does take up space -The cord holder doesn't have a bottom one so the coil of the electric cord is simply hanging from one hook which can make it easy to unwind unintentionally when not in use, and not as pleasing to see the cord hanging freely instead of against the vaccum -you do have to bend down to change the setting to use the suction for the hose and tools. -Doesn't seem to leave my carpet as fullfy as the other vaccumes I've used. -It also is a little hard to push. My rug isn't very high, but is more medium thickness, I tried to vaccum on the medium setting, but it did not pick up as much litter or dust when I changed it to the "low rug" setting. Which also made it harder to push, -I had to move slower than my normal vaccum speed to allow for the vaccum to be able to get everything on the first 2 passes.

Great weight, easy to use and great suction
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So there is definitely some weight to the device. It is a little heavier than our Dyson. And I like the handle. It is comfortable to push. I like the feature of being able to raise the brush level depending on the type of carpet or floor you are using. It was easy to empty after using it. All the accessories feel very sturdy. I like the roller will not get clogged with hair. Have only used it a few times, but so far no tangles or hair collecting on the roller. It is a little heavy to carry but I find the weight helps me push it over the carper.

Great hair and Debris Grabber
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. All of our floors are either hardwood or linoleum. We have an exotic shorthair cat that sheds a lot leaving balls of fur around everywhere. This does a much better than average job on picking them up along with dust, dirt and the occasional stray dry cat food. The brush on the roller does not pack up with hair very much as other have before. The upholstery attachment is really a dream on the cat hair on the couches and chairs as well as for the dust on the drapes. It has a battery powered LED lighted crevasse tool that gives a good view while in use. The dust bin is easy to remove , clean and empty. Its super easy to maneuver around since it swivels. Assembly was straightforward, toolless and super easy. It has a 5 year warranty and its name describes it perfectly, Pet Hair Eraser.

It's a good vacuum.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall it’s a nice vacuum. First thing my wife noticed when I fired it up was the Febreeze scent so major points for that. It seems to clean well. The hand brush is super powerful. I do wish the head of the hand brush did articulate though as doing stairs and furniture are a bit tough. The lighted crevice tool is a nice touch and the fact that they tied it into a button when you insert into the hose means you can’t forget to leave the light on. It’s not quite as maneuverable as the Dyson I own, but it does clean just as good. It also is a delight to empty the dust bin. Trap door swing open and dirt falls out, hair/fur too. No finger fishing debris out. I would recommend it to a pet owning friend.

Good Vacuum If You Have Pets
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This vacuum does a good job, it was easy to put together. I love that it has place for every extra part that comes with it. The scented filter works well. The rotating brush on the floor piece and handheld piece work great for picking up pet hair. My only complaint is that it is a little bulky. It's not too loud for a vacuum so I can enjoy my family programming while I use it.

Disappointment
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have owned several different types of vacuum cleaners and I had high hopes for this vacuum. I read the reviews before I purchased this vacuum, and they all seem to be good. However, I now know some of the reviews must have come from folks who have not owned many different vacuums, so they really have no real comparison. There are so many buttons to operate this vacuum and you can easily forget to turn one of them on or off while using the vacuum. I can deal with all the buttons, but what I cannot deal with is, the lack of power. I own a Hoover Wind Tunnel & paid $169 for it. The Wind Tunnel puts this vacuum to shame. I shave my dog every month in my home. He's a Carine Terrier with blond coarse hair. When I clean up, I first use the hose to suck up his hair from the carpet and then I use the vacuum cleaner to finish the job. I tried using the Bissell Pet Hair remover vacuum and I could still see his hair embedded into my carpet. It clearly could not get the hair out of my carpet, so I had to use my 8 year old Wind Tunnel and in seconds it was gone. I am very disappointed with this vacuum and unfortunately must recommend not wasting your $249 on this vacuum.

great vacuum, but
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great vacuum. I think I finally found one that picks up everything. I do have one comment, I really don't think it is a criticism, but a caution. The vacuum is very heavy; for a person that has physical problems, or even an older person, I think this vacuum would not work for them. It is too heavy. In my case, it is almost too heavy, but because it picks up great, I do okay.

The best vacuum for a pet
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This vacuum is amazing. I can't remember ever having a vacuum that vacuumed pet hair so well. I have three cats and it picked up the hair with ease. You will love, love, love this machine. Also, they donate to pet foundation. Thanks Bissell!!

Great vacuum if you have a lot of pet hair!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Picked up more dirt and hair that my dyson dc25 left behind. Easy to assemble right out the box. Clear and easy to read instructions. Febreeze air filter smells great. I always had to clear the hair from the brush motor and pull the dirt/hair from the bin in my dyson. This Bissell does NOT trap hair around the brush motor or have the dirt/hair stuck in the trash receptacle.

Very Good Vacuum
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This vacuum does everything it says. It is easy to maneuver, led crevice tool is really nice, and hair does not tangle. One of the best features is the Febreze air filter. After vacuuming, you house smells really good. In comparison to other brands, it is bagless, has filters that you will need to replace over time, The suction is average, not performing to highly ranked or luxury vacuums. Don;t let this deter you. For the price, this item is really good and does the job.

Drastic improvements needed!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this vacuum about 6 months ago so have given it more than enough time to form an honest opinion. Let's start with the pro's. * Long cord which means not having to constantly switch outlets. * Looks good. * Hair doesn't get tangled in the brush roll which is a huge plus as we have long hair and animals. Now onto the con's. *Annoyingly you have to physically bend down and turn a dial on the side of the vacuum at the bottom to switch from floor suction to the wand. * The attachments are flimsy and do not stay on the wand due to poor design. * The vacuum is HEAVY * Poor suction and have to do many passes over even bigger items before it picks up. * Incredibly short wand which means bending down a distance to clean baseboards. I am by no means tall at 5 foot 5 and I had to purchase an extender which the attachments do not even fit on. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this vacuum and was severely disappointed. For it being a Bissell, I feel they could of done so much more with the design to make it both more efficient and ergonomic.

Work nice at first
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Worked well at first. After 1 month it stopped picking up, so I was told to take it to a Bissell dealer. They charged me $50.00 to unclog the hair and told me that they have nothing but problems with this model and I should have invested in vacuum that used bags. I have 2 dogs and 4 cats and need a vacuum that doesn't works more that a month or 2.
