Works well when I could get it to work

Printer would go to sleep and computer would not recognize it. Had to turn the printer off and on again for it to be seen by computer. I'm sure if I had a little more technical knowhow I probably could have fixed the problem, but after I couldn't get it to work anymore I got another printer.

I have owned this for exactly 2 years, was not heavily used and it has decided to no longer print. It started with "receiving data" but would not print. I contacted Brother who I think has awesome customer support. To no avail, they could not resolve the issue and gave me an authorized dealer location to take it to which is 80 miles from me. Not worth the time, gas or the $125/hr service charge. (Found out later they do not work on these units). I had issues with this from day one, with it continually going "off line" and it never did scan to my PC. You can see from other reviews that this is a Brother problem with their laser jets. It did print nice and I liked the duplex feature but is now just a paper weight. Now I have the daunting task of looking for another printer.

I purchased my Brother printer several weeks ago, and it has been working like a charm. Ever since I bought this printer, I haven't used any other printer. It prints fast, arguably quiet, and saves a lot of money. Because it uses monochrome cartridges, the toner doesn't cost much and prints a lot of pages. The cloud printing from google drive, office 365, and box saves a lot of time and is a cool function! Overall, I'd say this is the best printer I have owned.

Extremely slow to print even when wired to a computer. If you want to print wirelessly from phone, tablet, laptop, etc this is not the printer for you. Returned this because of the wireless printing nightmare.

Love this printer! I have it at home and also got it for my office. Haven't had any issues and use the print, scan, and copy functions all regularly.
Love AirPrint and the wireless isn't flakey at all.

printing from my computer is no problem. BUT printing from an android phone is low whether using WIFI direct or the Brother App or the brother plug in. seems like the brother server is messed up and data transmission is affected causing it to slow. it printer says it can print 30pages per min but it took me three to four minutes to print a three paged document. the screen just shows "receiving". i will be switching to HP coz HP eprint is very important and data transfers are FAST.

when my wireless Canon died, I bought the canon MX922- and fought to get it working for three weeks before I took it back.
The brother installation, for a wireless installation, was easy and went well- took about 20 minutes. When I went to the MacBook- was even easier.
Print looks very good.

I'm starting to like this printer. I don't print much, but knowing that this doesn't use ink will save me money. I used this wireless and didn't have any problem with it. I even download an app on my phone to use the printer and it works great. I'm running window 10 and haven't had any problem. This printer only print black, no color. Good for simple use and don't care to print in color. I haven't test out the scan feature yet.

Front of the Line

This printer is front line to me, I am upgrading my printer from an older brother printer and it was a great decision. With the Wireless and LAN hook up you have a choice and with the smart phone app it was a breeze to get everything going in a short amount of time. Everything has worked perfect plus for $10 extra I put on a 2 year warranty from Best Buy , no worries!

i'm not a computer person and don't know much about the specs or anything, but this printer exceeded my expectations. (i guess i don't research before i buy and bought it impulsively) It's not my first brother printer. I've had other laser printer and though the OEM cartridges are expensive, i tried to get the generic ones. That said, this printer has surprised me. It has double printer feature, and also has an double sided ID printer feature. I don't usually need this, but it happened that i needed to make a copy of the driver license that day and it was perfect. also, the wireless feature makes everything so convenient. i never have to hook up my pc to the printer in order to print. the image quality is decent. I'm not sure how long the starter cartridge will last, hopefully long enough. One last thing is that the small display is touch-screen. makes it neat.

Great Home Office Printer

Installed this printer yesterday and was really easy to set up. Prints very well. I had no issues. The only con is that it is a little noisy but other then that its a great laser printer. Also seems like it uses a lot of power to run it. My lights flicker a little when it comes on.
