My only complaint: the manual. It is written for a handful of different models, including HL and MFC, and it can be confusing. The HL-L2380DW doesn't have an automatic document feeder (ADF), for example, but the manual tells me when to use the feature anyway (without telling me it doesn't apply to my purchase). Then again, if you use Windows, and have MS Word, printing envelopes is a whole lot easier than the manual would suggest. Works just fine without making all the settings changes. Minor complaints aside, this is one fine piece of home office equipment. It replaces my old Brother HL-1440 and it is a worthy replacement indeed. Prints beautifully, quickly, and more quietly than other reviewers would suggest. The duplex feature is wonderful, and the copy-scan options work as advertised (I really have no need for the heavier-duty ADF feature, to be honest; just wish the manual was more straightforward about it). Great printer, great purchase: I'm happy, for now. The months and years ahead will tell the whole story.

Why didn't I buy a laser printer before. So far, way better than an inkjet. Best printer I've ever bought. Easy setup. No need to worry about cleaning nozzles, realignments, etc.. etc... issues with inkjet printers. Buy this printer, you will not be disappointed.

I have owned an hp laserjet printer for about 10 years with no issues. But about a year ago, it started taking too long to start printing and it was not wireless either. So we decided to research between hp and brother, laserjet and normal ink. Even though hp had some good ones, we went with this brother because we just use it maybe once a month for school projects. We have read that the normal ink dries out so laser jet was the best decision for us. The hp laser jet had mixed reviews so we went ahead and tried the brother, and we could not be any happier. Set up took about 2 minutes, just connect it to wifi, add it to your computer and you are ready to print. I would totally recommend this printer.

We must have gotten a faulty printer. I did not work out of the box. We returned it and ended up buying a printer with a smaller "footprint".

Great office printer, works fast and pretty simple to set up. Upgraded from our old brother printer so looking forward to using this for next few years.

Great laser printer that is helping to save money that would otherwise be spent on ink cartridges. Works well, software installation was incredibly easy and fast and the printer is great!

Stopped working after 6 months. Have to power off and on to print each new queue.

I returned this printer because it isn't well thought out not easy to use.

It failed the second tiem i used it. It kept on saying data remaining in memory.

Been using this scanner/monochrome laser printer for about a week now. I like it. Worked well with my Kindle Fire HD 7, Surface Pro, and several Windows 7 machines. Able to print and scan easily. Easy double sided printing. Power save mode kicks in nicely. Setup was easy (just a little long for the software installation). Some people commented that the scanning is slow for them. I have no issues, reasonable speed for me. Yes, it doesn't have a feeder, but I knew that going in. It is usable to me, even for scanning multiple pages (manually). The only thing keeping this from 5 stars is that the printer is really noisy when printing. Really noisy. Just surprised by that. Otherwise, I'm happy with my purchase so far.

This printer is not good and I have asked to change it but you refused

This printer works great on Windows 8.1 and my Apple devices. I have Windows 8.1, an iPad mini 1st generation, and an iPhone 5s. I am happy to say that the printer install process was very easy on Windows. After the driver was installed, it worked on the first try. No troubleshooting was required. For my Apple devices, it was even easier. The Apple devices automatically detected the printer, and printed documents from them right away -- no installation or configuration required.

Work well with windows and ipad. Good economy with laser...

Would not advise buying unless your a computer wizard.

Don't get me wrong, I know there are some farmers with computer skills, but my father is not one of them. I ordered this for the farm accounting computer expecting that I would need to go home the next weekend to install and configure it. I got a call mid-week that the printer was in and after about 5 minutes of coaching it was successfully installed.

I am seriously the least tech-savvy person I know, so I was nervous about buying this. Also, my Mac doesn't have a cd drive nor do I have a printer cable, so when I opened the box and saw the driver CD and no printer cable, I was discouraged. However, this printer comes with a giant, user friendly step-by-step setup guide for both PC and Mac, and downloading the drivers online was super easy. I was printing wirelessly within 10 minutes and have not had any issues at all. Print quality is superior to other printers I've purchased. I've also used it as a scanner and the quality is great. My son also set up his Mac and we're both using it wirelessly with no issues. Price and quality are great. Highly recommend.

Easy setup...able to save on paper when using two-sided printing

This printer does everything it says. Ink lasts a long time, prints fast and well. Absolutely love it and could not ask for a better printer!

I love the fact that I don't have to have my laptop connected to print. The ink last me a while and I love how I can print from my phone too!!
