Although they both do color, duplexing, etc. the HP was constantly losing the wireless signal and not printing. And those ink cartridges -- even the Large ones -- don't last long. Yes, the laser cartridges are expensive, but they last so much longer. Glad I bought this Brother.

Good overall

The other complaint is that I had to download the software from the internet to the computer and I was not aware that i had to do that and the Brother customer service had to walk me through it.

Not the best at anything, but good enough

It's not the best at anything, but it gets the job done and the toner isn't too pricey. This is the 6th of the same machine purchased for my office and I would recommend. It replaced a HP Officejet with a much lower duty cycle any many annoying quirks.

Better than Ink Jet and less costly

This took care of cutting the cost of refills and the length of time between. I've bought earlier models and this one is made just as great. Easy to setup and easy to use for both mac and PC
