There is a track record of quality and value for money that you can rely on with Corsair PSUs, more specifically with the RMx 80 Plus Gold models. High quality capacitors coupled with a 10 year warranty make this a smart investment to include in your build. The silent operation is a nice feature, but if the fan is activated, it is a relief to know that Corsair's efficient but powerful fan is on the job. The cables are not individually braided, but are still well made. With an i9-10900k and an RTX 3080, this PSU will be asked to deliver 50-75% of its max output, which is the sweet spot on the efficiency curve.

Needed a PSU upgrade and this does not disappoint. Very quiet and super reliable. The modular design helped for a clean PC build. Will buy another for future builds.

Great power supply. Good quality. Quiet and powerful. I purchased it to run my overclocked 8700k and RTX 3080 and it works perfectly. Corsair power supplies are great.

I went back and forth a lot. In the end, the brand is reputable and the price, while a little on the higher side, at least for my budget, was well worth it. The quality is superb. Everything was well packaged and the blacked out cables look great in the case. I went with more power than I needed to try and allow for future components. On top of 850W, it's also 80 Plus Gold. At the end of the day, it's a good investment. Power is power and while the components within your computer might be "outdated" in months, you can feel confident that 850W of power today will be 850W year-after-year and this PSU has the quality to last that long.

I needed to upgrade so I can use the new RTX 3080 I was getting. Had this for almost 5 months and it's still performing great.
All I can say is if you are upgrading an existing build be sure you change all power cables or it won't start up properly even though the connections look the same. My PC had that problem until I did that (part of me being lazy). Since then it's been running flawlessly.
I love the fact that it is a fully modular PSU, and will never go back because it really helps minimize the wire management by only having what you need.

This review is for the RM850x. I also have a RM850 installed in one of my PC's which has been working like a charm. I purchased the RM850x recently to replace a different brand PSU that failed me. Corsair products scream quality in my opinion and this PSU is no different. I'm glad I went with this product. It fits my needs and was a breeze to install. It is very quiet and I have not observed any issues. There was a slight sale when I purchased this item but I find the retail price to be reasonable for the quality you are getting.

My 750W supply from another major brand failed suddenly, causing me to scrabble to find a local supply in order to meet a work deadline. This 850W was on sale and in-stock, so I grabbed it. I couldn't be happier. The modular design helped clean up my case, and the unit is silent. The CPU power cable was barely long enough for my configuration, but the rest had ample length. All the power cables are sheathed.

I got this for a build I’m working on. I picked this product for its high quality build, reputation, ease of use, and good value. The fan is quiet (zero rpm mode under light loads) and 850w gives plenty of head room to keep the power unit in its most efficient work zone with the ability to absorb more powerful peripherals if need be. The cables are well done and marked, but I admit I replaced them only because I wanted a different aesthetic. No hesitation to recommend this unit!

The PSU itself does everything you expect it to do: provide sufficient and well-regulated power to the other parts in your PC. I never hear the fan on this either.
The only issue is the cables. They're very stiff near the connector so routing them can be a huge pain. The 24-pin connector was especially difficult in my Fractal Design Meshify C case. I also wish at least a couple of the PCIE cables had a single 6+2 instead two 6+2 connectors on the end.

Returned a CX750M in favor of this power supply, as the cheaper PSU was just too loud. The RM850x is super quiet and has all the connections I need for now and into the future. I have to knock off a star for the cables, though. They’re fat, bulky (especially at the ends), stiff, and difficult to work with. Once it’s all together though, it’s a great, quiet, efficient, and powerful PSU. Running an RTX 3080 with a 3700X, tons of drives and SSDs, and it doesn’t break a sweat. Still hate that they don’t give you any PCI-E cables without the pigtail connectors though. Single 6+2 pin connectors are much cleaner and this PSU has plenty of connectors to not have to use pigtails, especially since most people with this PSU will be running high powered cards that you DON’T want to use daisy chains with!

Great power supply. The cables are not the most flexiable and have quite large hard areas near the ends that cause them to not cable manage 100% the best at times. But corsair sells sets of custom cables.
The psu its self is great runs fanless or very low fan speed and doesnt add lots of extra noise to the system.i do wish they had a fan test or an eco switch on the fan but thats a minimal gripe
