I'm sure its a solid portable drive for normal storage. I attempted to use it with the PS5 and it just kind of struggled. I'd be comfortable recommending it for anything aside for the new consoles.

Great for gaming. I bought a gaming laptop since I am on the go a lot more than I used to be but the SSD built in was small. Got this and it is excellent for taking a huge library of games on the go with me. I got it on sale and would recommend waiting for sales because it happens frequently enough.

No issues. Install was seemless on the PS5. Just make sure you use type-c and not -a.

It was a good value for the price when I bought it. It is not as fast as I thought it would be. That may be due to the speed of my computer's USB-A & USB-C ports. It is definitely faster than external hard drives I use also. I was hoping it would be as fast as my two internal drives (2TB m2.NVme and 2TB SSD). Maybe that was wishful thinking. I am still happy with it and use it as an additional system external backup drive.

I've been using an external SSD drive as my main macOS boot drive on my 2018 Mac mini for a few years now. Unfortunately a few weeks ago, the drive I had been using failed (Google "Samsung T7 leaking" - it's crazy!). I needed a replacement ASAP and there was no way I was going to give Samsung any more of my business. I've always been a fan of Crucial's memory products and had never heard anything bad about their SSDs so I decided to give them a shot. Luckily the 2TB Crucial X8 happened to be on sale for a ridiculously low price and Best Buy had it delivered the very next day! While the specs are similar to the Samsung T7 drive it replaced, I am finding that the transfer speeds on the Crucial X8 are slightly faster. Overall, I am very happy with this purchase.
